The kids really love ham, so I figured it was time to pull one the ones we bought with the $5 off Cooks ham coupons a while ago. This one cost a little over $3.00 after the coupon. I added some glaze and sides for a total cost of $6.80. Not bad when you consider I’ll have enough ham left to possibly make some scalloped ham and potatoes and will use the remnants to make a ham stock as a base for pinto beans. I LOVE picking up a Ham as dinner is just so easy! When you see a Meat Coupon released, snag it as quick as you can and always use it on the smallest piece of the meat you can find to maximize your savings. These Cook’s Ham coupons really have stretched my budget. I purchased multiples that were small in size and tossed them in the freezer for when I want a quick easy meal.
To really make it an easy meal I stopped by Kroger and found some easy fixin sides. I will quite often pick up premade sides in the deli area at the grocery but, I ALWAYS look for a markdown (and I almost always find them), it keeps the meal budget friendly and is a breeze to make and clean up:)
All I did to had to do was put a little glaze on the ham and toss it in the over to heat following the directions on the label, microwave the beans according to the directions and I was done.
Here is what it cost:
Ham ($3.17 at Kroger with $5 Cooks Ham coupon)
Brown Sugar ($0.15 from previous Meijer deal)
BBQ Beans ($1.69 at Kroger Managers Special)
Egg Mustard Potato Salad ($1.79 At Kroger)
