These Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats are do fun for the fall and Halloween season. If you read my blog at all you are fully aware that my entire family has a slight addiction to Krispie Treats. Our favorite Krispie Treat in the fall is our Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats that I shared with you last year. We decided that we would make some colorful Rice Krispie Treats last week for the kiddos lunches. Hubby suggested a candy Corn Krispie Treat in a round pan and sliced in to candy corn shapes. Sounded like a great plan to me.

These Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats were super simple. We just placed the three different rings of colors. Then we sliced them up!

The kiddos ended up finishing off this whole batch before I could even get them placed in sandwich bags for theri lunches. Plus I did sneak a few to enjoy with my evening coffee. yum! I really like Rice Krispie Treats almost as much if not more than the kiddos.

The ingredients needed for your Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats are the same basic ingredients needed for standard Krispie Treats. You will just need food coloring. I did use a white food coloring that I picked up at the craft store.

DIRECTIONS
Lightly spray a pie pan with non stick spray.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Transfer about half the marshmallow mixture to a large mixing bowl.
Add about 10 drops of yellow food coloring and mix well.
Add 3 cups cereal and mix well.
Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into a ring around the outer edge of the pan.
Transfer most (about 4/5) of the remaining marshmallow mixture to a large mixing bowl.
Add about 10 drops of yellow and 6 drops or red food coloring and mix well.
Add 2 1/2 cups cereal and mix well.
Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly against the yellow ring around the outer edge of the pan liaving a empty circle in the middle.
Optionally, add about 6 drops of white icing color to the marshamallow mixture remaining in the saucepan and mix well.
Add 1 cup cereal and mix well.
Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly against the orange ring into the empty spot in the middle.
Allow to cool completely.
Lift out whole and cut, or cut in pan into triangular pieces.
