Peaches are such a sweet fruit- and this batch we got from the grocery store was one of the sweetest I’ve had- and pairing that up with the heat from a jalapeno is perfect! While we’ve only used this Peach Salsa Recipe as a chip dip, I think it would taste great on something like chicken tacos, pork tacos, or maybe some sort of fish tacos.

How to Make Peach Salsa

Our homemade salsa recipe is so easy to follow, anyone can do it – no matter your skill level in the kitchen.

Spicy peach salsa ingredients in a bowl.
  1. Finely chop peaches, peppers, onion, tomato, and cilantro to your liking.
  2. Combine all salsa ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix together and season to taste.
  3. Optionally let sit in fridge for an hour or two to let flavors meld before serving.

Substitutions

Are you out of an ingredient? Here are a couple substitutions that you can use to make this recipe.

  • Peaches – If you can’t get your hands on fresh peaches, you can easily make a Peach Salsa with frozen peaches. The frozen peaches will probably be easier to chop too- just make sure to drain off any excess liquid after they thaw and before adding it to your salsa.
  • Cilantro – Some people don’t like cilantro and that’s perfectly fine! You can still make a tasty Peach Salsa without cilantro or you can sub in some parsley and lime juice.

Variations

Do you want to add some additional flavor to this salsa? Here are a couple of my favorite tried and true additions to this recipe.

  • Peppers – We went with jalapenos for this homemade salsa recipe but you could go with most other fresh peppers of your choosing. A lot of folks love to make up some Peach Habanero salsa- it’ll be much spicier if you use habaneros!
  • Onions – While we think that yellow onions in salsa taste the best, some people might prefer the sharper flavors of other onions. Feel free to try using white onions or some red onions in your own Peach Salsa.

Storage / Freezing

Storage: You can store this delicious homemade salsa in the fridge for 3-4 days. After that, I think it starts to get too soft, runny, and off-tasting.

Freezing: Freezing is also an option for long-term storage. Transfer your salsa into a freezer-safe container and it will keep for 3-4 months in the freezer. Allow to thaw in the freezer overnight and drain off any excess liquid before serving.

Top tip

While you could serve your Peach Salsa up right away, we recommend letting it sit in the fridge for at least an hour or two to let the flavors get to know each other. After giving it a chance to sit, serve your salsa up with some tortilla chips and enjoy!
