This Cranberry Apple Walnut Stuffing is going to be perfect for your upcoming holiday meals. This not a plain herb stuffing that you are most likely use to. This dressing is loaded up with the yummy flavors of cranberries, apples and walnuts. Plain stuffing is great don’t get me wrong but it is nice to change our meals up occasionally. We have been cooking so much more this past year. Last Thanksgiving I shared our Traditional Green Bean Casserole, Garlic Roasted Potatoes and also our yummy Candied Sweet Potato Casserole too! Those are always staples on our holiday table. This year I was wanting to kick it up a notch and be more adventurous. So I will be sharing some new dishes with you this next few weeks for you to consider for your holiday meals.
Cranberry Apple Walnut Stuffing
As you can see from the pictures this Cranberry Stuffing is so colorful. I found it to be so pretty. Dipping the firs spoon in was making me so uneasy. I wanted to keep looking at how pretty it was. I was picturing it presented with our Thanksgiving spread this year. It is going to be PERFECT!
After all the uneasiness I dipped and snapped some pics of this yummy Cranberry Apple Walnut Stuffing for all you. The kids were hovering at my office door waiting for me to finish up. They were even excited to give it a try! The combo of the cranberries and apples was scrumptious! Plus I think this will go well with a pork dish besides just plain stuffing.
The ingredients need to whip this up this stuffing for your family are pretty simple. Obviously you need bread. I chose a sweet Hawaiian and a multi-grain to mix it up a bit. You could choose your favorites. Obviously you will also need cranberries, apples and walnuts. This dish comes together and bakes in practically no time.
1 lb Bread (I used part Sweet Hawaiian and part Multigrain)
1 cup fresh Cranberries
1 cup dice Apples
1 cup diced Onion
1 cup chopped Celery
2 tsp Poultry Seasoning
2 tsp minced Garlic
1/2 cup Walnut pieces
1/2 cup Butter melted
1 cup Apple Juice
Preheat oven to 350.
Cut bread into cubes anf place in 300 oven until lightly brown.
Place celery, apples, cranberries, onions and minced garlic in a bowl and microwave for 4 minutes.
Grease 13×9″ pan with butter.
Mix all ingredients except apple juice together and transfer to pan.
Pour apple juice evenly over dressing.
Bake 30-45 minutes.
Overall I am loving this dish and super excited to serve it up again. Everyone in my family really liked the flavor combinations and came back for seconds.
