Ingredients to Make Rice Krispie Treats with Peanut Butter
You only need a handful of simple ingredients to help you make this recipe. All of these ingredients are easy to find at your local grocery store, and you may already have some of them in your pantry to help you save a little cash.

- Marshmallows – I used mini marshmallows, full sized work too!
- Peanut Butter
- Vanilla Extract
- Rice Krispies Cereal – I used Kellogg’s Rice Krispies brand but any generic or brand cereal will work
- Chocolate Chips
- Shortening

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats
Making this delicious and peanut butter filled recipe is so simple. Just follow the instructions below and you will have a simple snack recipe in no time at all.
- In a large pot or large saucepan melt the butter over low heat.
- Add marshmallows, peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until melted and blended.
- Remove from heat and add in the Rice Krispies. Stir until blended.
- Transfer to prepared pan and gently press the mixture into place. Set aside.
- Place the chocolate chips and shortening onto a microwavable dish. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until mixture is melted.
- Pour melted chocolate over the rice krispie treats and spread with a spatula.
- Allow chocolate to set. Once set, cut into bars.
Tip: Spray your baking dish well with nonstick cooking spray, or line it with parchment paper for easy clean up, and cutting.
