Peach Bread
on Jul 29, 2024
This Peach Bread is a delicious recipe that uses fresh peaches. It’s an easy quick bread recipe loaded with diced ripe peaches. Then, it’s topped with a simple sweet glaze.
Fresh Peach Bread is perfect for breakfast, dessert or a snack. You will love the peachy flavor that can be found throughout the bread. It’s a quick bread that can be made in no time at all.
Fresh peaches make some of the BEST desserts. Use them for this recipe or try our Peach Crisp or Creamy Peach Salad.
Fresh peaches are great. When peaches are not in season, canned peaches are what I typically use for my recipes. This Peach bread can be made with fresh, canned or frozen peaches.
You will find this Peach bread to be moist (almost like a cake texture). The flavor from the fresh peaches is AMAZING! The glaze that we make for the top gives the quick bread a perfect amount of sweetness.
I will often make this Peach Bread for an after dinner dessert. I will place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a slice. My family really enjoys it served this way. There’s never a crumb left on their plates.
Peach Bread Ingredients
Outside of fresh peaches, the ingredients you’ll need for this Peach Bread dessert recipe are typical baked dessert ingredients. If you make cake, muffins, bread, or any other desserts then you probably already have most of these on hand. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Peaches – You’ll want to use fresh peaches for this recipe if you can. You can try using frozen peaches, but the texture and taste might not be as good as if you made Fresh Peach Bread. Another option would be using canned peaches- you can even save some of that syrup for the glaze!
- Flour – All purpose flour is okay here.
- Baking Powder – Not baking soda.
- Salt
- Sugar – White granulated sugar.
- Milk – Whole milk, 2% milk, skim milk, or any of your preferred non-dairy milks will probably all work here.
- Vegetable Oil
- Egg
- Vanilla Extract – Just for a bit of extra flavor.
- Confectioners Sugar – We’ll need powdered sugar to whip up a sweet glaze for this dessert bread recipe. If glaze is not your thing, you could also add a Cinnamon Crumb topping.

How to make Fresh Peach Bread
One thing we love about this Peach Bread is that it’s a lot like our favorite easy bread recipes: instead of making bread dough, we make a sort of “bread batter.” This makes it very simple to whip together and you still get a tasty dessert bread in the end! To make this Quick Peach Bread yourself, here’s what you have to do:
- To start, you need to get your peaches cut to size. There is no need to peel the peaches. If using canned peaches, drain off the syrup (pat them down to remove some of the moisture) before roughly dicing down into small pieces. Set aside.
- Over in a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, add your granulated sugar, some milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix together until fully combined.
- Once the wet ingredients get mixed, we can start adding the dry to the wet. Add the dry ingredients bit by bit as you mix them into the wet ingredients. Avoid overmixing as you gradually add all the dry ingredients and mix until a batter forms.
- Once your bread batter comes together, you can add your diced peaches. Fold your peaches into the batter until they’re roughly mixed in.
- Transfer the batter into a greased bread loaf pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 60-75 minutes– a toothpick poked into the center should pull clean with no wet batter.
- Once the bread has baked and is set aside to completely cool, you can whip up a quick glaze by mixing the powdered sugar with milk. Pour the glaze over the finished and COOLED Peach Loaf, slice, and enjoy. If you’re using canned peaches for this recipe, reserve the syrup from the can. Sub out some of the milk in the glaze with this canned peach syrup to really amp up the peach flavors!
Storage / Freezing
Storage: For best results, you’ll want to store Peach Bread in some sort of airtight container on the counter or in the fridge. Expect it to keep for 3-5 days.
Freezing: You can also freeze Peach Bread if you want to keep it longer. Skip the glaze for now and wrap your cooled loaf in plastic wrap or foil before putting it in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container. Keep frozen for 2-3 months and let thaw in the fridge or at room temperature.
Tips for the BEST Peach Bread Loaf
Avoid over-mixing the Peach Bread batter. Simply use a spatula to combine the ingredients. There is no need for a stand mixer.
