How to make our Homemade Dip

The first thing we need to do for our cheesy spinach dip is to cook our spinach. Cooking spinach is real easy: get some olive oil warmed up in a saucepan before dropping your spinach in and sauteing.

Cooking spinach in a pan

Cook the spinach until it’s wilted and shrunk. If you’ve never cooked spinach before, don’t be afraid when the spinach shrinks- that’s just what it does when it’s cooked!

Cooked spinach in pan

Now we need to drain and wring our spinach out. You can do this easily by putting the cooked spinach in a fine-mesh sieve and pressing any moisture out. Once you’ve pressed as much water out as you can, roughly chop your spinach and set aside.

Straining removing moisture from spinach

The next order of business is getting our hot dip filling made. For that, we’re going to mix our chopped spinach, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic, salt & pepper, parmesan, and some of our mozzarella together. Mix well in a bowl until thoroughly combined.

Ingredients for dip in a bowl

We’re going to transfer this filling to a greased or cooking-sprayed baking dish- cut down on dishes by baking it in the dish you plan on serving it in! Top the filling off with any remaining mozzarella you had before letting it bake.

Dip added to baking dish with cheese on top

Our dip is going to bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes before we turn on our broiler and let our dip’s top brown for another few minutes. Once done baking, pull from the oven and top with some chopped parsley before serving while it’s still warm. Enjoy!

What do you eat with Spinach Dip?

There are all sorts of delicious stuff you could dunk into our spinach dip! If you want to feel a bit healthier, use some carrots or celery sticks. Outside of that, the classic picks are some pita crackers, Triscuits, or maybe some Cheesy Garlic Bread. We also think our Parmesan Crostini Recipe would pair well with this warm dip!
