Slow Cooker Chili
It’s time to dig out the Crock-Pots and give them a good washing. Slow cooker recipes are best all year long but during the fall and winter months, we give ours a real workout. We make Slow Cooker Beef Stew and chili most frequently.
Chili is always a favorite. If we make a big batch, we can enjoy it for dinner and also use leftovers for Slow Cooker Baked Potatoes with Chili and Cheese.
Our CopyCat Wendy’s Chili is one of my favorite chili recipes but sometimes we just want a real kicking chili. One that has a bit of a bite but not too much bite. This Slow Cooker Chili Recipe is just that! Hot but not too hot!
Since this is a crock-pot recipe, you can toss your browned ground beef and all other ingredients right in the slow cooker and carry on with your day. By evening, you will have a super comforting chili.
This recipe comes together quite quickly. We add in the Chipotles in Adobo for a really smokey and spicy kick. Occasionally, I will even add in some jalapeno pepper to make it SUPER spicy.

Do u take the seeds out of the adobo peppers
This looks delicious and I can’t wait to try your chili! I will agree with the comment above, please note what size crockpot you use in your recipes, it’s very helpful for someone like me who is new to using them.
Hello! Thanks for all of your delicious recipes you post on your site… I make them weekly! I want to make your slow cooker chili recipe, but I am wondering where I can find this: Chipotle Pepper in Adobo sauce? I looked for this on Google Images and it shows cans of chipotle peppers. I see that your recipe only calls for one pepper…. so do you purchase a whole can and only use one pepper? I don’t want to waste a can of peppers if I use only one. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks so much!!
Hi Kayla, as per the picture with the ingredients in it it is the canned Chipotle peepers. What I do as usually my recipes only use 1-3 peppers. I save the rest in a cover plastic container in the fridge and they will not go bad for months. Hope this will help!
Happy cooking.
Hi! Love your site, and I get your recipes in my inbox. I have a request. When you post a recipe, would you mind noting the size pot or crockpot you used? Especially crockpot size. Many of us have multiple pots to choose from. A lot of people I know only have one crockpot so the size needed to produce the recipe is pretty important.
[ I do not suffer from that affliction, I have 2 of the 1 cup/warmers, a 3 qt, 4 qt, 5 qt, 6 qt, 7 qt, and an 8qt crock/pressure cooker combo, I cook a LOT :-) ] Size would be mighty helpful! Just followed you on pinterest, thanks for some great recipes :-)
