These Chocolate Peanut Butter Hearts are just like a Reese’s Cup in a fun heart shape for Valentine’s Day. Super simple homemade hearts that will make for a perfect treat or even a gift.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Hearts
If you read my blog at all, you probably already know how much I love chocolate and peanut butter together. One of my favorite desserts is my No Bake Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake.
For Easter, we always make our Homemade Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs. They are our favorite homemade candy for Easter. Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I can not think of a better candy than Homemade Reese’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Hearts.
I bought this super fun Wilton 6-Cavity Silicone Heart Mold Pan a couple of years ago and I was anxious to use it again. I knew it would make for a perfect and easy mold for our peanut butter hearts. I bought mine at Michael’s with a coupon but you can find them at quite a few stores. I think my Kroger actually has them in for Valentine’s Day. You can also purchase it on Amazon too.
These candies were so super simple. I made them quite quickly. The kiddos were super anxious for me to finish taking pics so they could devour them. I knew they would be perfect because I used the same peanut butter center that I used on our eggs.
I am making another batch of these the week of Valentine’s Day. I am going to drop each of them into a clear cellophane bag with a ribbon and gift them to teachers, neighbors, and the hubby. Super tasty and inexpensive gift idea.
These Peanut Butter Hearts only require a few simple ingredients. You will need peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and chocolates. I used Wilton Candy Melts because I had some on hand. You could also use chocolate chips. I find melting chips to be easier and quite often less expensive.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
2 tbsp Butter
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 cup Powdered Sugar
12 oz Dark Cocoa Melting Chips
Silicone Heart Mold
Heart Cookie Cutter (smaller than mold hearts)
DIRECTIONS
Melt 4 ounces of chocolate in microwave by heating for 30 seconds then stirring and repeating process until it is melted and smooth.
Pour melted chocolate evenly into the bottoms of the heart molds and place in refrigerator to set.
Melt peanut butter and butter for 1 minute in microwave.
Stir until blended.
Add vanilla and powdered sugar and mix well.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread peanut butter mixture out on prepared sheet and spread to about 1/4″ thickness.
Refrigerate for 15 minutes until firm.
Use cookie cutter to cut out 6 hearts and place in center of each mold.
Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Melt remaining chocolate in microwave by heating for 30 seconds then stirring and repeating process until it is melted and smooth.
Pour melted chocolate into each mold over peanut butter heart to make sure it is covered and even.
Refrigerate 10 minutes until chocolate has set.
I store ours in the refrigerator to be sure they do not melt to much.

These look yummy and so easy to make. Personally, I would not even consider using the Wilton melting chips. Have you checked the ingredients? They are not even real chocolate, contain the very worst kind of trans fat and have very odd taste. They might be okay for a thin coating of a cake ball but in these, I would suggest using a good quailty real dark chocolate.
