Homemade Oreo Cookies

My family is big fans of Oreo cookies. I am not talking a slight addiction, more like a BIG addiction. I have been making the kids our Oreo Pudding pops to enjoy this summer but our No Bake Oreo Cheesecake Recipe was a huge hit last week. When making the cheesecake, I was thinking about how great it would be to have homemade Oreos.  I will quite often buy generic store brand Oreo cookies but nothing can really compare to the real thing. That was until we made our own homemade Oreo cookies.

There is nothing better than twisting apart those yummy chocolate cookies to lick off the filling, just ask my sons, lol. These cookies turned out great. The whole batch was consumed in one day in our house.

This recipe does require a bit of work but really worth the effort. The filling tastes just like a real Oreo cookie. The cookie tastes pretty darn close but obviously missing the Oreo stamp from the middle, ha ha.

You will need some basic ingredients that you most likely already have in your pantry to make this yummy cookie recipe. Do not let the sticky dough scare you off from finishing the recipe. I thought I had a failure on hand after I had my hands all stuck up with dough, ha ha. Getting your dough rolled super thin is the key. I could have actually made mine a bit thinner. Keeping yourself from consuming the bowl of filling will be difficult too but I have warned you.
