Make your own Peppermint White Hot Chocolate right at home, no need to rush off to Starbucks. This hot chocolate is rich, creamy, pepperminty, and perfect for serving in the cold months and holidays.
Peppermint White Hot Chocolate
We have all read about the crazy red cup issue this past week. I can tell you that as much as I am a believer in keeping the “Christ” in Christmas, a red cup from an extremely rich company is not going to deter me from grabbing a cup of some good coffee or hot chocolate during the winter months. However the cost may.
This morning, my daughter woke and thought that we HAD to take a trip to Starbucks to get a cup of hot chocolate. I am not sure how many times this past week she has insisted that we needed to make the trip. The girl loves her Starbucks. As much as I attempt to teach the value of money, these kids still just can’t understand that running to the coffee shop can be a budget buster for our family.
I whipped up a quick batch of this yummy Peppermint White Hot Chocolate for her while she was showering. Even though it was not her beloved Starbucks, it was enough to keep her from begging to make the trip, ha ha. She even agreed that making it at home was better. I am super excited that I decided to make it. Normally during the holidays, I make a big batch of our Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate to serve our party guests. This year, I will be making a couple of batches of this yumminess.
Making your own Peppermint white hot chocolate at home is so super simple and so much cheaper. With just a few white chocolate chips, milk, a candy cane, and some peppermint extract, you can make this delish drink right at home.
INGREDIENTS
4 cup Milk
1/2 cup White Chocolate Chips
1 Peppermint Candy Cane
1 tsp Peppermint Extract
Whipped Cream and crushed Peppermint Candy (for garnish)
DIRECTIONS
Heat milk and peppermint cane over low heat in a saucepan until peppermint is melted.
Add white chocolate, stirring continuously until melted.
Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract.
Transfer to cups and garnish.
Do you have a favorite hot chocolate recipe? Making the real stuff at home tastes so much better than store bought envelopes or even Kcups.

Thank you for sharing this recipe! I made this tonight for my family, and it was a hit. I was a little nervous that this was going to be very sweet, as white chocolate chips are sooo sweet, but I was thrilled with the outcome. I made the recipe “as-is”, and the sweetness factor was subtle and perfect. It was very creamy (I used whole milk) and the peppermint flavor was subtle as well.
this peppermint white hot chocolate looks so amazing…… :)
I Can’t wait to make this up to be ready for when all the teenagers get home! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing the recipe.

Would adding a shot of espresso work too? Could you do this in a corckpot?
