Today I was craving spring really, really bad and HAD to make this CopyCat Sonic Cherry Limeade. The sun was shining and it looked like it could be 70 degrees outdoors. No such luck, I think the high reached maybe 40 ha ha! I still NEEDED to have a Sonic Cherry Limeade and it was going to have to be homemade. I am thinking the trip to a Sonic was out of the question (about 30 minutes away). So homemade it was. Limeades always remind me of summer and this Limeade was just what the winter blues doctor ordered ha ha. It really helped. So, if you have a case of the winter blues, whip up this Cherry Limeade recipe and you will be feeling all cheery.
CopyCat Sonic Cherry Limeade
I am longing for spring and summer. Pitchers and Pitchers of Iced Tea, Limeades and Lemonades. I am trying to keep focused and know it will be here soon. But… not soon enough in my eyes, ha ha. I want to bust out the flip flops, crop pants, shorts and tanks.
I grabbed some Sprite, Cherries and some lime. So simple and so satisfying, lol. I did not attempt to get my ice shaved more in the food processor (I think I will next time (which will probably be in about 15 minutes ha ha). If you decide to make this yummy CopyCat Sonic Cherry Limeade you can shave yours or just use crushed.
INGREDIENTS
12 oz Sprite
2 Maraschino Cherries
1/8 Lime (cut in 2 wedges)
3 tbsp liquid from Maraschino Cherry jar
1 cup Crushed Ice
DIRECTIONS
Place cherries and 1 lime wedge in bottom of a glass.
Fill with crushed ice.
Add Sprite.
Add cherry liquid and squeeze juice from second lime wedge on top.
I am thinking I will be making up some more spring and summer drinks and treats in the next few weeks. This Copycat Sonic Cherry Limeade was very therapeutic, ha ha!

Hi! I actually work at sonic, we use grenadine and lime juice. For a 20 oz glass it’s 1 oz grenadine, and 1/2 oz lime juice. Ice, cherry juice lime juice then sprite is the secret :)
What’s in the strawberry one? I prefer the strawberry over the cherry.
Thank you so much, figured it was grenadine but thanks for confirming very cool of you!!
This looks so good! I will be trying this!
