Peanut Butter Meltaways Recipe
on Dec 02, 2014, Updated Oct 21, 2020
These Peanut Butter Meltaways are creamy and rich with smooth Peanut Butter that just melts in your mouth! I am super amazed at how easy they really are to make. These are easier than our Homemade Reese’s Eggs that we make and have shared with you. In just a few minutes time you can whip up a batch to serve up this holiday season and they are perfect for gifting. Plus this recipe will be one you will be making all year long. So simple and so yummy!
Peanut Butter Meltaways Recipe
When I took my first bite into my Peanut Butter Meltaway I thought I was in heaven! Yes… they are seriously that delish. The smooth peanut butter and chocolate just melt in your mouth!
I have a slight confession to make. I finished up taking my pics of these bites of yumminess and packaged them into a cottage cheese container (cleaned and washed of course, ha ha). I then placed the dish in to the back of the fridge. I know that the entire family will not even think to open a cottage cheese container (not one family member is a fan of cottage cheese). So my next craving which I do not anticipate being to long I will have myself some Peanut Butter heaven.
I have a few tins that I am needing to package up for the holidays with candies. I am going to make another quick batch as we get closer to the holidays to gift too!
The ingredients needed to make your own Peanut Butter Meltaways is quite simple. Just grab some white chocolate chips, peanut butter and some shortening.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz White Chocolate Chips
3 oz Semisweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1 tbsp Shortening
DIRECTIONS
Combine all of the ingredients, cover and microwave for 90 seconds.
Remove cover, stir and microwave 30 additional seconds.
Stir until smooth and pour into mini cupcake liners.
Place on a cookie sheet and refrigerate until set.
Be sure to keep refrigerated or in a very cool spot.

What can you use in place of shortening. ?
These look delicious and easy, but need a substitute ingredient for the shortening.
Thanks so much.
I’m not sure you need the shortening at all, but you could try coconut oil.
Do you have to keep them in the refrigerator?
Can these be frozen, do you think?
And the cottage cheese container is a great idea.
Sometimes a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!
Can i make the peanut butter and white chocolate part and freeze then dip into melted milk chocolate so they are like peanut butter in the middle chocolate outside If so, how much oil in the peanut butter and white chocolate, and how much in just the milk chocolate for dipping?
how do you all get answers? i dont see anyone answering you alls questions.
Mine doesn’t look like yours on the inside with a chocolate coating on the outside.
Hi Jeri! Can you describe exactly what went wrong for you? These were made exactly as described and should look like the photos.
How would I measure 3 oz. And 6 oz. Per measuring cup.
I have the same question.How do I get the 3 & 6 oz without a scale ?
These are simple, easy, and delicious. My neighbor begs me to make them for him!
How long do they typically take to set in the refrigerator?
Also, can you use Wowbutter, which peanut free butter but is pretty much the same taste and consistency of peanut butter? Not sure if anybody has tried🤔
I thought I was the only crazy one! I gave my nephew a Hummus Container full of Toll House Cookies for his Birthday, disguised so that other partygoers would not check inside the container. So Smart to use Cottage Cheese–same idea!
Wow, these look so yummy. Pinning and adding them to my candy making list.

I really can’t wait to try this recipe I was wondering where do you buy mini cupcake liners.
You can buy mini cup cake liners at the grocery stores and at The Christmas Tree Shop
I got my mini cupcakes at The Bulk Barn. 100 for $2.99
These are wonderful! I saw this today and decided to try half a batch (18). They are truly heavenly and melt in your mouth as you said. They look just like your photo. Will be making for the holidays! Thanks.
Thank you for posting to Motivation Monday!
Oh my gosh! These look delicious!! I’ve pinned the recipe for later and to share with others. Good idea to hide them in a cottage cheese container so they don’t disappear quickly. I’ll have to try that myself. Merry Christmas!
wondering how many this batch of pb meltaways make?
It made about almost 2 mini muffin pan … almost. Love how easy this was! Can’t wait to try them, glad the recipe made so much! I am trying recipes and a lot of them don’t make more than a few servings, this one is an exception.
Thanks for posting! Mine was easy to make and are in the fridge cooling.
