Orange Jello Salad with cream cheese on a spoon

This Orange Jello Fluff Salad is a simple dessert that works off a classic flavor combo: orange and vanilla. We wanted our Orange Fluff to be an especially sweet treat, so we made this Orange Fluff Salad without cottage cheese. Plenty of folks use cottage cheese in their recipes and I’m sure they taste great with that little bit of saltiness from the cheese. We wanted to take ours in an especially dessert-y direction that would taste like a creamsicle dessert.

The best part of this delicious orange dessert recipe is that most of the ingredients are either pantry or fridge staples. I’ve usually got cream cheese on hand and we keep plenty of Jello and marshmallows in the pantry. In short, this is not a difficult recipe to make or shop for. We hope you all give it a try: fluff salad has always been a crowd favorite, so it would be perfect at your next get-together!

Orange Jello Fluff Salad Ingredients

  • Cream Cheese
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Orange Jello
  • Orange Slices – We like using these Dole Mandarin Oranges. These fridge packs give us the perfect amount of orange slices that we need.
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Whipped Topping – Like Cool Whip.

Ingredients to make Orange Jello Salad

How to make Orange Fluff Salad

This Orange Fluff Salad is so easy to make! Here’s all the steps to make some yourself:
  1. Add the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla to a bowl and beat together until fluffy.
  2. Add in the orange Jello mix and beat together with other ingredients.
  3. Fold in orange slices, mini marshmallows, and whipped topping until combined. Optionally chill in the fridge before serving.

Cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in a bowl

We’re starting things off kind of like a cheesecake: add the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract to a bowl. Grab a hand or stand mixer and use it to beat those ingredients together until nice and fluffy. At that point, add in the Jello mix and beat that in- it’ll turn a bright orange color.

Orange Jello added to cream cheese mixture

Now it’s time to add in the remaining ingredients. Drop in the mandarin orange slices, the marshmallows, and your whipped topping. Using a rubber spatula, start folding everything together.

Marshmallows, oranges and cool whip added to bowl

Try to not fold too vigorously- we want to keep some of that “fluff” from the Cool Whip. Eventually, everything will fold into one consistent mixture.

Serve this Orange Fluff up straight away or let it chill in the fridge for a little bit to the let the flavors meld a bit. Either way, enjoy!
