Homemade Peanut Butter Granola Bars
on Mar 05, 2014, Updated Jan 01, 2024
My kiddos and I LOVE these Homemade Peanut Butter Granola Bars with Chocolate Chips. I have attempted to make homemade granola bars in the past and they came out great but not as good as this new recipe. These homemade Peanut Butter Granola Bars with Chocolate Chips are perfect for us to have for a quick breakfast in the morning or a snack too. I polished off a few yesterday with my afternoon coffee. Since the Homemade Pop Tarts Homemade Cheez It’s and the Homemade Fruit Roll Ups Recipes were such a hit, a new Homemade Granola Bars recipe was definitely needed this week.
Homemade Peanut Butter Granola Bars
I like having snacks and quick and easy foods for the kiddos to eat when they are on their way out the door for school or just to have a quick snack on hand is very handy. I usually purchase boxed granola bars but wow, the prices have risen. In my house a box is gone the second they notice them in the grocery bag from the store, ha ha. The price really adds up. Having a large batch of Homemade Granola Bars is so much more budget friendly.
These Homemade Peanut Butter Granola Bars are so simple with no baking required. I plan to have my teenage daughter make a batch weekly for lunches. They are so easy and take no time at all to whip up. I did add some Peanuts to this recipe but, they are not required. Also, you do not need to add the chocolate chips to the top either if you would like to keep them more healthy. I love my extra salted peanuts and the addition of the chocolate for myself, ha ha.

I have been purchasing the natural creamy peanut butter from Aldi and I really like it. The price is great and it tastes great in the recipes I have made so far. This no bake option was just so simple, no pans to clean up was a HUGE plus too!
If you are like me and love peanut butter you will be dipping in this mixture before it even hit the pan, ha ha! I just kept nibbling a bit here and there. Tasty for sure.

What is the nutritional information on these bars? Calories, carbs, protein, sugar, etc.
Thank you!
Hi! Could I freeze these? How do you typically store them? Fridge or counter?
Hi Bethany! When I have never froze them. If you try, be sure to let me know. I usually just have them in a plastic ziploc type bag in my snack drawer. Hope that helps- Jen
My family loves peanut butter-I will definitely be trying these. Pinned! #HomeMattersParty
I love the idea of a homemade granola bar to know exactly what is in it – I may need to try these!!
What is the nutritional information on the homemade granola bars? Sugar? Carbs? Protein?
How do you store them after cutting them up? In the fridge? Or Tupperware?
Do you happen to have the calorie count for these? Thanks!
I’ve made these three times now. Really good. Even my boyfriend likes them.. he eats one every morning! I substitute 1/2 c. flax seed in for part of the rice crispies to make them slightly healthier. This time I used half PB and half nutella… also good! I usually add a little bit more PB, otherwise they’re a bit crumbly. Was thinking of changing up the nuts or using butterscotch chips next time. Thanks for the recipe!
How much salt goes into the recipe? I see to combine peanut butter, honey, brown sugar, and salt, in the directions, but I don’t see salt on the ingredients list.
Hi Laurie! I am sorry about that. You will not need salt for this recipe. Somehow I added it when adding the recipe but, it is not needed. I hope you enjoy.
Hi Jen,
If rice krispie is not on hand, could more oats suffice?
Thanks!
i dont have quick oats only old fashioned oats would that work ?
