Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

How cute are these Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats? A few years back the we decided to let the kiddos have their friends all over for a Halloween party. They had not had Halloween parties since they were quite young. Being the cute food crazy mom that I am  I insisted they let me choose the food if they were to have a Halloween Party. I pitched the idea of Pumpkin shaped Rice Krispie Treats to each of them. Amazingly they all agreed that they would be perfect (yes, they agreed on something, ha ha). Needless to say these cute little pumpkins were a hit with everyone.

Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

This past weekend when I was making up some of my other fall goodies the kiddos were begging the hubby and I about having another Halloween party and recalled the cute Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats that I made for their past party. I was not the push over that I normally am and totally blew their idea of a Halloween party down the tubes ha ha. The thought of a house full of teenagers dressed in Halloween costumes really had me stressed. Since I turned down their brilliant Halloween party idea I figured I would surprise them all with those cute little Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats. They are so quick and easy to whip up and really put me in the Halloween spirit. Are you looking for a special treat for a Halloween party? If you are consider throwing together a patch of these little guys.

  3. That looks delicious! What a fun thing to post at the blog hop! I can’t believe Halloween is right around the corner.

  4. How many pumpkins does this make? I pinned and am planning on making them for my daughters Halloween party at school on Thursday. She has 24 kids in her class, wondering if I have to double the recipe?

  5. I would love to make these for my daughter’s Halloween party at school! How many pumpkins does the recipe make?

  6. I added a few tablespoons of corn syrup to the recipe and I let the mixture cool a little before I started forming the pumpkins. I had to press them really tightly to keep them together, but as the mixture continued to cool it got much easier. When I was finished, I gave each of the now-room-temperature pumpkins a good final squeeze.

  7. How did you roll them into balls? When I tried, it stuck to my hands and completely failed to stay in a ball shape. And the tootsie roll just sat on top, didn’t stick at all. Any advice would be appreciated!

    1. Hi mic- I suggest trying non-stick cooking spray or Crisco to help with the sticking.and force your tootsie roll into the pumpkin . I hope that helps.

    2. these were so hard to make for me. Maybe I did something wrong, but I couldn’t get the whole thing to come together, too much muscle needed to stir, etc. One has to have a strong hand to get this all mixed. I won’t make these again.
Sure you didn’t leave out an ingredient? like corn syrup to make mixing smoother?

  8. Ok so I have just attempted to make these with my 4 year old granddaughter but we got most of the mixture on us!!! Please tell me how to roll the mixture into pumpkin shapes without getting most of the mixture stcuck on my hands

    1. Try adding a bit of non-stick cooking spray on your hands. Or if you do not have any handy, try a bit of Crisco. Another trick would be wax paper to grab the mixture and form. I hope that helps:)
