Easy Banana Cream Pie

This Easy Banana Cream Pie is one of my favorite quick and easy desserts. Since we use a store-bought crust and instant banana pudding, it can be made in a jiffy.
Easy Banana Cream Pie
When spring weather arrives, my hubby and I are all about cream pies. Banana Cream Pie and my Homemade Coconut Cream Pie are his favorite evening desserts. When I have time, I can make my super simple 4 Ingredient Pie Crust. But when I am looking to make a quick and no mess pie, I will use store-bought crust.
The weather has been so nice here in Cincinnati this week. All of the Easter goodies are starting to arrive at the stores. I love that it is starting to feel like spring. Cream Pie makes for a perfect spring dessert.
Hubby put in a request for a pie for dessert and I didn’t hesitate. I whipped up this easy banana cream pie in just a few minutes time, tossed it in the fridge to firm, and we had some delicious easy pie for evening dessert.
Since Easter will be here before we know it, this pie would be great for you to whip up for holiday dessert. It’s so easy and requires very little effort.
The pie starts with a layer of bananas in the crust, creamy filling, and topped with whipped topping. Creamy banana filling is one of the best comfort foods. YUM!
This is one of the simplest pies to make. You will need either a Homemade Pie Crust or a store-bought, banana pudding, Cool-Whip, and some bananas. So incredibly easy!
Ingredients to Make Easy Banana Cream Pie
- Ready-Made Pie Crust or Easy Homemade Pie Crust
- Instant Banana Cream Pudding (3.4 oz)
- Milk
- Cool Whip
- Bananas
How to Make Banana Cream Pie
First, you will need to preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Then, par-bake the crust for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the oven when golden brown edges have been achieved. Let the crust cool.
Next, combine the milk and pudding mix and whisk until thickened (about 2 minutes).
You will now need to fold in about 2/3 of the container of the whipped topping.
Now, slice 2 bananas and layer in the bottom of the prepared crust.
Transfer the pudding mixture to the banana filled pie crust and chill for at least one hour.
For the next step, top the chilled pie with the remaining whipped topping.
Then, slice the remaining banana and garnish the pie.

So easy! I did cut back on the cool whip since I had a smaller pie and it was delicious!
So easy to prepare and super delicious! Especially in this hot weather! I believe I put too much Cool Whip in pudding because it wasn’t as firm. Otherwise it was very tasty!
Whoo yes, please. I love banana cream pie. Visiting from The Creative Muster blog hop.

Can I put it in the freezer to firm??
Yes! It’s works great. It also allows perfect slices.
Can I put it in the freezer to firm. And if so, for what amount of time would be sufficient??
Just tried this. With 3.4instant pudding you need 8 cups of milk to make pudding. I followed recipe and only used 1 3/4 milk and yaaaa that turned into a dough lmao. I’m re buying everything and going to prepare the pudding ACCORDING TO THE BOX. Then fold cool wipe… somethings wrong with this recipe or maybe I’m using wrong pudding mix?
I followed the recipe exactly and did use instant pudding and mine was runny not firm like your picture. The taste was very good but would like mine to be firm what can I do so it would be more firm.
Mine was really runny also, it never set
I was sooo looking forward to this but failed to read the pudding box disclaimer that said pudding would not set if using Soy milk. I used oat milk and am currently waiting to see if it will set if I partially freeze. Obviously it needs the fat to set. I will try this again because it’s a quick pie and fool proof if you use common sense 🤪
I assumed the instant pudding was to be mixed with the milk and not actually have to make the pudding. Quite runny and cooling in the fridge now hopefully it will firm up.
Super easy and delish!!! Will make again!❤️❤️
You couldn’t find an easier recipe!
It ALWAYS turns out perfectly!!!
Excellent…!!!!!! Wow what flavor and so smooth. My new go to desert….and you are right….so easy….
CAN U MAKE HOMEMADE WHIPPED TOPPING WITH THIS RECIPE INSTEAD OF USING COOLWHIP
How do you keep the bananas from going brown
Joan, I was reading other banana pie recipes and saw the hint of dipping the banana slices in Sprite. I haven’t yet tried this trick, but I plan to with this recipe.
I used the Sprite love how well it worked. The recipe is wonderful. I used the large box of pudding. Complete success.
How much milk did you use with larger package of pudding?
I’m making it now
Did the sprite thing work?
Just curious.
Hello,
I’ve tried twice to pin your Simple Salisbury steak recipe but it appears there’s a fault somewhere; Despite clicking on and saving the correct photo, the title says Banana cream pie – and if you wish to make the recipe you are directed to Banana cream pie – not Simple Salisbury steak.
Is there any way you could connect the correct recipe to the Salisbury steak recipe please?
Many thanks
Fran
Hi Fran! I am not sure what is going on with the Pinterest pin for you. I pin it quite frequently and I have not had that issue. I will have my tech hubby check on it for me. Thanks for letting me know:)
Thank you for joining my Link Party! Your recipes are so mouth-watering! Hope to welcome you soon again!
