This Strawberry Topping is is perfect for topping your ice cream this summer. It’s also great for pancakes, waffles, cakes, cheesecakes, and more. An awesome blend of strawberries and sugar that is super simple to make at home. No need to purchase store bought, enjoy fresh strawberry topping instead.
I mentioned before that we are huge fans of ice cream during the summer months. We like to make homemade ice cream like our Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream or even Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. But, my favorite thing to put this sauce on is this No Churn Strawberry Ice Cream.

- strawberries – Look for strawberries that are right colored, and firm with a little give.
- sugar – You will need some granulated or pure cane sugar to help sweetened this sauce.
- lemon – Pick up a fresh lemon at your local grocery store so that you can add the zest and the juice to this sweet ice cream topping.

Making this sweet strawberry sauce is so simple. Just follow the instructions below or in the recipe card below and you will have the perfect dessert topping in no time all.
- Prepare the strawberries by washing, removing the hull and slicing them.
- Put strawberries, sugar, 1/2 tsp lemon zest and the juice of the lemon in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Transfer contents to a glass container and refrigerate before using.
