No machine is needed to make this super chocolaty No Churn Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream. Homemade ice cream is so much better than store bought. If you love chocolate chocolate chip ice cream, you will love it!
No Churn Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream
My hubby loves his ice cream most evenings during the summer months. I usually have some store bought ice cream on hand for him to devour with all his favorite toppings. This past week, we had a great grocery sale on a certain brand of ice cream that I will not mention. I bought a few tubs of it because I can not pass up on a deal.
This was one of those times that I really wish I wouldn’t have taken advantage of a good deal. My hubby made his first bowl of this certain ice cream and was immediately discussing how bad the ice cream was. This was premium brand ice cream so I was sure he would like it. Nope… he was off to the sink to discard his bowl. I figured I would give it a try and I thought the same. The flavor was awful.
The next morning, the hubby was commenting on how much better our homemade ice cream recipes that we make are than the store bought cartons. We all love our No Churn Reese’s Peanut Butter Ice Cream. My favorite is my No Churn Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream. I was so bummed that I stocked up on this darn sale. I should just make our own ice cream. Making no churn ice cream is so darn easy. You can make just about any flavor combination you like. Plus… you do not need a ice cream machine to make some seriously tasty ice cream. Yesterday, I decided I would make this new flavor combination, No Churn Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream. It is super chocolaty and you can add chocolate chips and chocolate chunks for your mix-ins. I considered adding in some leftover brownies with ours but decided to use them in a second batch of ice cream. Make this recipe and you can have a cold treat dessert in the freezer in no time at all.

Simple and awesome recipe. My family loves chocolate ice cream and had all praise for this. I was experimental with the chocolate chips and used caramel filled ones about the fifth time ‘round making this. Can’t go wrong with chocolate!
I made this and I found the ice cream to be delicious, creamy and chocolatey. I did not care for the dark chocolate chunks, they were very hard and “plasticy” tasting. I could use some tips on whipping heavy cream, I never could get peaks. But I mixed everything together anyway and it was VERY good. I put it into a loaf pan, but next time I would use a container that comes with a lid. I would love to know the nutritional values without the chips. Thanks for the recipe!
Jen this looks so good! We’ve had our share of not so good store bought ice cream, so making our own custom ice cream is something we like doing too. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday. Pinned and I’ll be including this in an ice cream roundup this week.
This looks amazing! I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday. Hope to see you next week
