Red White and Blue Fruit Salad

We have started eating quite a bit more fruits and veggies this past few weeks. Yup.. I have managed to get my kiddos eating fruits, veggies and drinking more water. It feels like a huge accomplishment. I know I still have a mountain to climb though. Getting the hubby to get on board has been a bit more challenging, ha ha.

My cart at the grocery store did not even resemble what it normally does. I loaded up on lots of fruits and lots of veggies. Earlier today, I shared our Honeydew Melon and Cucumber Salad. Since it was a hit, I whipped up this very quick and easy Red White and Blue fruit salad with some of the fruits I bought. Cierra and I consumed the majority of it but I am very happy to say that even Quentin and Damien had a larger serving that expected.

This recipe is so simple and requires just a few fruits and some items probably already in your pantry. We used strawberries and raspberries but you could also use watermelon. We are going to make this again for our July 4th picnic. I plan to grab a small star cookie cutter before the holiday to use on the apples to make it a bit more festive.

This dressing on the salad is so simple and not overpowering. That’s what I like best. The flavors of the fruits are still present.

Hi! Getting ready to try your fruit salad for the holiday weekend. It looks great! I had a couple questions. Can I use lemon juice instead of lime for the dressing? And does the salad hold up for a few days?
