School mornings can be so hectic for us. We have kiddos that need to be transported to their college up the road, one that heads to the high school. Then we have the other who needs to be transported to morning therapy sessions. Since we get started early (the first one is out the door by 7am), I need to have breakfasts that everyone can just grab as they are headed out the door. I used to purchase premade store bought danishes for everyone. I realized I could make homemade danishes using store bought crescent rolls for quick and easy breakfasts.  I always buy crescent rolls when they are on sale to have on hand for so many recipes.

This Easy Cream Cheese Danish recipe is one that is perfect when we are pressed for time in the morning. I can make them in a few minutes time the night before and then have them on the countertop and ready to eat on their way to school. This is one of those recipes that the plates are always empty by the time everyone is off to start their day. I have made them numerous times for our holiday brunches and everyone always grabs one. I can add in pie filling to make them with more flavor options too!

If you are a danish fan, you will want to also see my recipe for Caramel Apple Cream Cheese Crescent Ring or even my Cherry Cream Cheese Crescent Ring. They are very popular with danish fans. Rings and individual danishes are great for feeding a crowd. They can be served as a breakfast or brunch or even dessert.

The first time I made our Crescent Cream Cheese Danishes, I was a bit skeptical. I feared they would not taste like a typical pastry danish. I was totally wrong. The crescent roll after being rolled into shape bakes just like a typical danish and the crescent dough is perfect for a danish. This recipe is makes 4 cream cheese danishes. You can easily double the recipe.

I had already purchased some Walmart premade Croissants. When I saw this recipe, all I needed was the cream cheese filling. Softened filling in the microwave at level 6 for approx 50 seconds, added some sugar & really didn’t even need the vanilla it was already so tasty. Definitely will save this for future deliciousness.

Really good tasting and easy. Only issue I had was getting the crescent rolls to stay together after rolling. My cream cheese filling spilled out a bit while baking because of this. I was able to scoop it back onto the rolls after taking them out ofthe oven.

These are AMAZING! So easy and delicious! I made them a little smaller by separating the crescent dough into the usual triangles. Rolled them up just like it says. Yum!

Great easy recipe!!! Super quick and simple. Only thing I modified was put less sugar. They turned out delicious! :)

  5. Hi. I have all the ingredients except vanilla. Think it will still taste good? We r in quarantine so I don’t want to go out for just vanilla…
    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi Suzanne! I am sorry you found the recipe to be too sweet for you. If you should decide to make them again, you could cut back on the sugar.

I just made these, my husband is diabetic so I replaced the sugar with truvia and they were AWESOME!!! I did add a little cinnamon because he loves cinnamon and we agreed we each could have eat the whole platter full. I will be making these a lot. , Linda

    1. Oh, how wonderful Linda! I am happy to hear that the Truvia worked well to replace the sugar. The cinnamon sounds like a wonderful addition too. We plan to make a batch for Valentine’s Day weekend with some fresh fruit added. Thanks so much for letting the readers know your results.

Second time making these this week, my family loves them! Hubby said these are better than store bought… Thanks for this fun, delish and easy recipe! -barb

    1. That’s wonderful Barb that the family is liking these. I know it is hard to find something that everyone likes. Have you tried any additional fruit toppings with them? I have made them with cherry and apple pie filling on top. I am going to try blueberry filling next week when we make them.

Followed recipe exactly. Simple and so delicious! Topped with fresh berries prior to baking and was wonderful! Thank you for sharing this yummy recipe.

  9. My husband is a cream cheese danish fiend, and he rarely gets them, bc normally a pan full of them from Costco are just too much on the wallet and waistline — I’ve got 4 of these in the oven right this minute — just the perfect amount and will be to die for, of that I’m sure. Thank you for the recipe – also the photos and instructions are great1

Oh my! These are AMAZING! I didn’t seal the dough good so a little of the sugar/butter mixture ran out on the pan. Made a nice, thin & crispy glaze on the bottom! Super easy!
