We use crescent rolls to make this super Easy Cream Cheese Danish. Perfect for simple on the go breakfast. Great for brunches and desserts too!
Easy Cream Cheese Danish
My kiddos are headed back to school this week. I feel like summer has just flown by. Pretty soon, fall will be here and then the holidays. Time just flies. I make breakfast for dinner so often during the colder months. My family really enjoys all sorts of breakfast foods.
School mornings can be so hectic for us. We have kiddos that need to be transported to their college up the road, one that heads to the high school. Then we have the other who needs to be transported to morning therapy sessions. Since we get started early (the first one is out the door by 7am), I need to have breakfasts that everyone can just grab as they are headed out the door. I used to purchase premade store bought danishes for everyone. I realized I could make homemade danishes using store bought crescent rolls for quick and easy breakfasts. I always buy crescent rolls when they are on sale to have on hand for so many recipes.
This Easy Cream Cheese Danish recipe is one that is perfect when we are pressed for time in the morning. I can make them in a few minutes time the night before and then have them on the countertop and ready to eat on their way to school. This is one of those recipes that the plates are always empty by the time everyone is off to start their day. I have made them numerous times for our holiday brunches and everyone always grabs one. I can add in pie filling to make them with more flavor options too!
If you are a danish fan, you will want to also see my recipe for Caramel Apple Cream Cheese Crescent Ring or even my Cherry Cream Cheese Crescent Ring. They are very popular with danish fans. Rings and individual danishes are great for feeding a crowd. They can be served as a breakfast or brunch or even dessert.
The first time I made our Crescent Cream Cheese Danishes, I was a bit skeptical. I feared they would not taste like a typical pastry danish. I was totally wrong. The crescent roll after being rolled into shape bakes just like a typical danish and the crescent dough is perfect for a danish. This recipe is makes 4 cream cheese danishes. You can easily double the recipe.

I plan on making these for Valentine’s Day! Would I keep the instructions the same and just use a heart shaped cookie cutter for the shape instead of rolling them? This will be my first time making danishes, but my boyfriend and I love them so we thought this would be the perfect time to try. I can’t wait to try out your recipe, thank you!
Jeanne
These cheese danish rolls are so easy it is ridiculous
And yummy. I will making them again for sure.
Marion Elizabeth Williamson
Love them. Can they be frozen?
Kelly metheney
I’ve made these with my 4 year old granddaughter a few times now. We use black raspberry jam on top of the cream cheese. They are resolutely delicious!
Angie from Minnesota
In the picture you show 8 oz. cream cheese but in the recipe you list 4 oz. Haven’t made yet waiting to hear.
Debbe Baker
IHi! I thought the same thing when I read the ingredients! So I’m using the full 8 ounces and going to double the filling amounts. There’s no way that there’d be enough filling with just 4ounces of cream cheese. It turned out great! 💞

Great, simple and pictures for each step. I PRAISE YOU FOR THE PICTURES FOR EACH STEP. It simplifies and makes it easier to follow. This is the way I organize things and you made it for me (with added pictures!) and I bless you.
I hope you become my “kitchen” dear friend. I cannot stand too long. with back problems and worse now with Pulmonary Fibrosis. I’m allergic to Pepper, Cinnamon, Tomato Sauce and I can skip the tomato but there is Pepper and Cinnamon in almost everything. I cannot find what to eat so cooking would be the answer but with my Handicap I might only get away with it by very simple recipes done so brilliantly with a picture for each step like YOURS. May God Bless you.
Please email me. You might give me some ideas on easy “stuff” including the question if an Instant Pot might help me.

I made them, they’re cooling, they look delicious. One question, can you drizzle the mixture right on or do you have to wait until they cool. I put it right on out of the oven.
Jen
Hi Rhoda! You can drizzle when warm if you like. I hope you enjoy!

How is your glaze white with vanilla in it? My glaze came out tan or light brown.
Sherry
You can use white vanilla–it is clear and leaves glaze white. It is used for wedding cake frosting.
Jeanne Anderson
Can you make these the night before and bake them in the morning?
Donna Wynn
I had already purchased some Walmart premade Croissants. When I saw this recipe, all I needed was the cream cheese filling. Softened filling in the microwave at level 6 for approx 50 seconds, added some sugar & really didn’t even need the vanilla it was already so tasty. Definitely will save this for future deliciousness.
Tara
Really good tasting and easy. Only issue I had was getting the crescent rolls to stay together after rolling. My cream cheese filling spilled out a bit while baking because of this. I was able to scoop it back onto the rolls after taking them out ofthe oven.
Lori
These are AMAZING! So easy and delicious! I made them a little smaller by separating the crescent dough into the usual triangles. Rolled them up just like it says. Yum!
L
Great easy recipe!!! Super quick and simple. Only thing I modified was put less sugar. They turned out delicious! :)
Vanin
Hi. I have all the ingredients except vanilla. Think it will still taste good? We r in quarantine so I don’t want to go out for just vanilla…
Thanks in advance!
Cindy
I didn’t have vanilla neither so I used lemon juice and it was delicious.
Paris
Maple syrup or a half and half mixture of bourbon and amaretto works as well
Amanda
Second time I’ve made them in a week! My family loves them!
Suzanne
Went exactly by the recipe… terrible way too sweet
Jen
Hi Suzanne! I am sorry you found the recipe to be too sweet for you. If you should decide to make them again, you could cut back on the sugar.
linda duncan
I just made these, my husband is diabetic so I replaced the sugar with truvia and they were AWESOME!!! I did add a little cinnamon because he loves cinnamon and we agreed we each could have eat the whole platter full. I will be making these a lot. , Linda
Jen
Oh, how wonderful Linda! I am happy to hear that the Truvia worked well to replace the sugar. The cinnamon sounds like a wonderful addition too. We plan to make a batch for Valentine’s Day weekend with some fresh fruit added. Thanks so much for letting the readers know your results.
Barb
Second time making these this week, my family loves them! Hubby said these are better than store bought… Thanks for this fun, delish and easy recipe! -barb
Jen
That’s wonderful Barb that the family is liking these. I know it is hard to find something that everyone likes. Have you tried any additional fruit toppings with them? I have made them with cherry and apple pie filling on top. I am going to try blueberry filling next week when we make them.
Sandra Vasquez
Followed recipe exactly. Simple and so delicious! Topped with fresh berries prior to baking and was wonderful! Thank you for sharing this yummy recipe.
Amy Harting
Really easy and takes about a hour start to finish
Valerie Wolf
How many does this make?
Jen
Hi Rena! The recipe will make 4 large cream cheese danishes. I hope that helps. Merry Christmas to you!
Jan
My husband is a cream cheese danish fiend, and he rarely gets them, bc normally a pan full of them from Costco are just too much on the wallet and waistline — I’ve got 4 of these in the oven right this minute — just the perfect amount and will be to die for, of that I’m sure. Thank you for the recipe – also the photos and instructions are great1
Shannon
I can’t believe how amazing these are! So easy my household is begging for more!
Michele
Made these with some crescent dough I was looking to use up. They turned it fantastic! Even better then the ones you buy in the store! I will strongly be making these again!
Jan Michelle Encinareal
Perfect for breakfast and snack. Try it now. I guarantee you will love this. I cooked it yesterday and the result is awesome. What you see is what you get. Thank you.
Tammy G.
Oh my! These are AMAZING! I didn’t seal the dough good so a little of the sugar/butter mixture ran out on the pan. Made a nice, thin & crispy glaze on the bottom! Super easy!
Stephanie
Could you make these the night before then cook the next morning?
Lazy Susan
OMG these were absolutely scrumptious!!! easy and pretty! Will double recipe next time. Everyone wanted seconds and I had to print up this recipe for several people! Next time? tying a little cinnamon!!
Michele
These danishes look amazing! Love that they are easy to make. Pinning!
