Creamy Dill Cucumber Salad
We love to grill out all summer long. We enjoy burgers, dogs, ribs, chicken, and all sort of salads during the warmer months. Salads always make for a perfect side dish
Sometimes, I will make a basic Pasta Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette or a traditional Quick and Easy Potato Salad. Last night, we tossed a large Pork Butt into our smoker to enjoy for dinner and lunches the next few days. Since a salad goes perfect with pulled pork sandwiches and I had some cucumbers in the fridge, I decided to make a Creamy Dill Cucumber Salad.
While I was growing up, family picnics were frequent. I recall one of my great aunts making this salad for most every family picnic. It’s such a simple salad but filled with great dill flavor. Perfect for summer.
All that is needed to make this salad is cucumbers, a Vidalia onion, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, dill, sugar, and some salt and pepper. Just slice your cucumber and onion and then whip up the dressing. Super simple.
INGREDIENTS
2 large Cucumbers
i large Vidalia Onion
1 cup Sour Cream
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
1 tbsp Dill Weed
1/4 cup Vinegar
1/4 cup Sugar
DIRECTIONS
Peel and slice onion. Then chop each slice into quarters and break apart.
Trim and slice cucumbers (thin is better).
Place cucumbers and onions in a large bowl.
In another bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients until well blended.
Pour dressing mixture over onions and cucumbers and toss to coat.
Best if served immediately.

There is a box of sugar sitting there with the other ingredients, but no mention of it in the recipe or when to add it. Did I miss something?
How much sugar?
The dill cucumber salad shows sugar in the photo, but it is not mentioned in the recipe. Is there sugar in the recipe?
No amount was given for the sugar in the recipe for your cucumber-dill salad.
Love your recipes and how they relate to the seasons.
Looks perfect for a summery day and it’s always summery here in the tropics ;) Must make it soon. I think you left out the sugar in the ingredients list but it is in your comments and photo though. Did you just use a pinch or ?
how much sugar in the cucumber dressing? I think you missed it in the ingredient list.
Why so many questions about sugar? Read the recipe or have someone read it for you! It says 1/4 CUP OF SUGAR!
