Easy Hershey’s Chocolate Pie
Quick and easy no bake desserts are the best. My grandmother was always one for whipping up the simplest of recipes that tasted amazing. This is one of those very recipes. I am sure she found it on the packaging or something.
Since the hubby was requesting pie this week and I was running short on items in the pantry, I decided on this super easy chocolate pie.
I had quite a few Hershey’s Chocolate Bars in the pantry for our summer s’mores so this pie was just asking to be made, ha ha.
We love our Homemade Chocolate Pie that I make for the holidays. It is pretty simple but takes a bit more prep than this pie that I am sharing with you today.
Pies are perfect for holidays but we enjoy them all summer long. I can usually get 8 slices from each pie which feeds my family perfectly.
The only items needed for this pie are Hershey’s Chocolate Bars, Cool-Whip, and a Crust. You simply melt the chocolate which only takes about 1 minute. So simple that you could even do it in the microwave. Then just blend the chocolate and Cool-Whip together and pour into your crust. I used a store bought OREO crust. You could make your own chocolate crust too!
INGREDIENTS
6 Hershey Bars
8 oz Frozen Whipped Topping thawed
Ready made Cookie Pie Crust
Extra Whipped Topping for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Melt chocolate bars over low heat or in microwave. Allow to cool slightly.
Fold melted chocolate into whipped topping until completely blended.
Pour/spread mixture into crust and refrigerate until set.
Optionally garnish with whipped topping and chocolate pieces.
Chill until ready to serve.

I ALWAYS freeze these pies! They freeze perfectly. Has anyone tried making this pie with chocolate morsels instead of candy bars? I love bittersweet chocolate.
How much milk is needed to melt the chocolate on the stove?
Hi, can these pies be frozen? I have to travel for two hours. I thought I could freeze and then take out prior to driving.
Hi Shelia!I have never froze them. You could give it a try. Be sure to let us know if it works for you.
Just made two of these! Mine don’t look as pretty and smooth but hopefully they taste great! Thanks for sharing!
The best chocolate pie I have ever eaten anywhere! Homemade, store bought or at any restaurant. I could not leave this pie alone. Making one today to give to a friend. I have a very lucky friend. Thank you for sharing this amazing pie recipe.
Was excited to make this. 8oz is NOT enough to fill a pie crust. Was disappointed. Try doubling up on the whipped cream to have a full pie
HI RW, I am not sure if maybe your pie crust was bigger than my store bought?
While looking through some things I bought at auction, I found the lady’s blue ribbons and recipe files. In it was a recipe for “Three Thing Pie.” It was this exactly, but using whipping cream, because it predated Cool Whip. The recipe was cut out of a paper from 1927. I gave it a try and have been making my chocolate pies this way ever since.
This looks so good. I am so hungry for it now. :)
Words cannot express how absolutely incredible this looks!! I love that it’s chocolatey, easy, and cold. Perfect for summer! Thanks for sharing your recipe with us at Merry Monday this week!
