Easy Garlic Butter Spread
We will quite often have a spaghetti dinner night. Most of the time, it is on Sundays. I can whip up a batch of Slow Cooker Homemade Spaghetti Sauce and a CopyCat Olive Garden Salad. I can have dinner ready with not much effort.
Spaghetti dinner is not complete without our garlic bread. Making garlic bread at home is so super simple and tastes so much better than store bought. I usually grab a fresh French Loaf from the bakery at Kroger. It is super inexpensive and is always fresh. I then spread my Super Easy Garlic Butter Spread on top and broil for just a few minutes.
Grab yourself a stick of butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and some parsley flakes. Yup…. that’s all that is needed for this recipe. Lather your butter on your favorite bread and broil.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup softened Butter
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Dried Parsley
DIRECTIONS
Mix together ingredients until well blended
Spread on top of sliced bread (I used French)
Broil on low until browned.
Do you have a favorite bread that you like to enjoy with your dinners. This garlic bread, and also our CopyCat Olive Garden Breadsticks, make for a great bread for dipping.

I’ve always just put margarine and sprinkled garlic salt or garlic powder and salt and it just never hit the mark. I made this for a camping trip this weekend (using butter) as we’ll be having garlic bread a couple times and, I tell ya, I can’t wait to try it. I tasted this garlic spread with a quick swipe of my finger a few times and, although I did add some extra garlic salt, it doesn’t seem to have ruined it. Thanks for giving me a go to recipe!
The best!! This is my go to recipe with italian meals.
Very good! Used it on warmed bread and also to make garlic bread. Didn’t have onion powder, so grated 1 shallot. Thanks for the keeper!
I’ve made this multiple times. It is amazing.
I never buy garlic bread anymore. I have shared this recipe on many occasions..
Thanks much for sharing it with others and dropping a rating, I appreciate it! We think it is a great spread for garlic bread My son uses the butter when making his filet mignon, it adds so much flavor.
Making this tonight to go with spaghetti. I’ll be using some of the hot dog buns we have left over from other meals. I haven’t decided if I’m going to use minced garlic or Ground garlic. I’m sure either way it will be good. I don’t have parsley so I may add Italian seasoning instead.
This garlic spread is everything!!! First and last recipe I’ll use for garlic spread. The store bought stuff has so many bad ingredients it’s crazy. This is simple and I can put on as much or as little as I want on my bread. The last garlic bread I’ve bought at the store they cheated me on the amount of spread they put on the bread. I didn’t make any changes to this recipe and my entire family loved it. Thanks for a great recipe!!
Hi, I don’t have onion powder, is there anything else I could use? Or maybe I could use onions?
I finely grated some onion and fried it off. Worked perfectly
I used this for garlic fingers.
I’ve made this garlic butter spread 3 times already!! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe!
Great garlic spread recipe! Used fresh powder from a local garlic grower for max garlic flavour.
I always do garlic bread restaurant style – spread on both sides and grill both sides in a nonstick pan. Definitely makes it less healthy but it’s worth it. ;-)
HI , planning on making this today, just wondering do I use salted or unsalted butter.
Thank you
Carrie
Hi Carrie! I typically use salted butter. But, either should work. I hope you enjoy!
