School mornings can be so hectic for us. We have kiddos that need to be transported to their college up the road, one that heads to the high school. Then we have the other who needs to be transported to morning therapy sessions. Since we get started early (the first one is out the door by 7am), I need to have breakfasts that everyone can just grab as they are headed out the door. I used to purchase premade store bought danishes for everyone. I realized I could make homemade danishes using store bought crescent rolls for quick and easy breakfasts.  I always buy crescent rolls when they are on sale to have on hand for so many recipes.

This Easy Cream Cheese Danish recipe is one that is perfect when we are pressed for time in the morning. I can make them in a few minutes time the night before and then have them on the countertop and ready to eat on their way to school. This is one of those recipes that the plates are always empty by the time everyone is off to start their day. I have made them numerous times for our holiday brunches and everyone always grabs one. I can add in pie filling to make them with more flavor options too!

If you are a danish fan, you will want to also see my recipe for Caramel Apple Cream Cheese Crescent Ring or even my Cherry Cream Cheese Crescent Ring. They are very popular with danish fans. Rings and individual danishes are great for feeding a crowd. They can be served as a breakfast or brunch or even dessert.

The first time I made our Crescent Cream Cheese Danishes, I was a bit skeptical. I feared they would not taste like a typical pastry danish. I was totally wrong. The crescent roll after being rolled into shape bakes just like a typical danish and the crescent dough is perfect for a danish. This recipe is makes 4 cream cheese danishes. You can easily double the recipe.

    1. Hi Karen! I am super happy you dropped back by to rate and review our Easy Cream Cheese Danish. We make them often with the addition of my families favorite jams and they are always a hit.

  1. I plan on making these for Valentine’s Day! Would I keep the instructions the same and just use a heart shaped cookie cutter for the shape instead of rolling them? This will be my first time making danishes, but my boyfriend and I love them so we thought this would be the perfect time to try. I can’t wait to try out your recipe, thank you!

I’ve made these with my 4 year old granddaughter a few times now. We use black raspberry jam on top of the cream cheese. They are resolutely delicious!

  3. In the picture you show 8 oz. cream cheese but in the recipe you list 4 oz. Haven’t made yet waiting to hear.

IHi! I thought the same thing when I read the ingredients! So I’m using the full 8 ounces and going to double the filling amounts. There’s no way that there’d be enough filling with just 4ounces of cream cheese. It turned out great! 💞

Great, simple and pictures for each step. I PRAISE YOU FOR THE PICTURES FOR EACH STEP. It simplifies and makes it easier to follow. This is the way I organize things and you made it for me (with added pictures!) and I bless you.
I hope you become my “kitchen” dear friend. I cannot stand too long. with back problems and worse now with Pulmonary Fibrosis. I’m allergic to Pepper, Cinnamon, Tomato Sauce and I can skip the tomato but there is Pepper and Cinnamon in almost everything. I cannot find what to eat so cooking would be the answer but with my Handicap I might only get away with it by very simple recipes done so brilliantly with a picture for each step like YOURS. May God Bless you.
Please email me. You might give me some ideas on easy “stuff” including the question if an Instant Pot might help me.

  5. I made them, they’re cooling, they look delicious. One question, can you drizzle the mixture right on or do you have to wait until they cool. I put it right on out of the oven.
