on Jan 24, 2014, Updated Jan 30, 2024
Yes, the hubby whipped us up this Copycat Chick-fil-A Sandwich and it is PERFECT! I love Chick–fil-A but really can not afford to take the whole family for chicken sandwiches very frequently. The hubby was on a mission to come up with a perfect copycat recipe for the original Chicka-fil-A and I think he found it. Quite a few unique steps to make it taste like the real thing.

If you are a fan of chick-fil-A you know that the chicken sandwich has some unique textures and flavors. There is of course a process to get those specific textures and flavors. Save yourself some dollars and make yourself Chick-fil-A at home. Pretty simple once you have this CopyCat Chick-fil-A recipe.
INGREDIENTS (Yield 4 sandwiches)
2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
1/2 cup Pickle Juice
2 Eggs
1/4 cup Milk
1 cup Flour
2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Salt

Pickle Slices!
DIRECTIONS
Put chicken in zippered bag and pound gently with the flat side of a mallet until about 1/2″ thick.
Cut each breast into 2 equal pieces.
Marinate chicken in the pickle juice for about an hour.
Beat together egg and milk in a bowl.
Mix together the flour, sugar, and spices in another bowl.
Heat the oil in a skillet to about 350.
Dip each chicken piece into the egg covering both sides, then coat in flour on each side.
Fry each chicken piece for 2 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through.
Place on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
Then serve on toasted buns with pickle slices.
Pair your Chick-Fil-A sandwich with some waffle fries and a soda and you have a fast food meal on the cheap. Dig in the condiment drawer for some ketchup packs to make it all seem like fast food ha ha!

Delicious. Served it to my hubby as he said “this is familiar! THIS IS CHICK-FIL-A!!” Job well done Jen!!Love your recipes and copycats
Made these yesterday and they were WONDERFUL!!!!!
My husband doesn’t like fried food but he LOVES this recipe. The first time I made it the stores were all out of celery salt (Covid Breakfast Cocktails??) and I forgot the basil and this time I had both and it was delicious!! Will make this over and over and even just eat the chicken without the bun and with a salad. So good! Thank you!
Sounds good! Now for the tenders or nuggets can you work on the Chick-fil-a sauce! Love that stuff!!
Walmart now sells the Chick-fil-A sauce or their own chicken dipping sauce!
My husband and kids and even I can sometimes be picky. This is an absolute favorite! You don’t have to wait till your pickle jar is completely empty to use the pickle juice for this recipe, either! It’s a small amount for a great brine and great meal.
I made this last night and it turned out great. My daughter didn’t know it was a copy cat chick-fila recipe and the first thing she said was it tasted lime chick-fila. Thank you
As good or better than Chick Fil A, my son says. He’s the expert! I used vegetable oil and dill pickle juice. Thanks!!
He’s pretty spot on. I was missing the celery salt but I’m not sure if it made a big difference. We loved it and will be making it again and again !
It did make a big difference. The basil as well. I missed both in the first attempt and the second try using them both made a difference!
I live far, far away from a Chick-Fil-A restaurant and I really appreciate this recipe! I use it several times a year!
Did you forget the MSG? Chick-fil-A puts MSG in everything they serve.
I love Chik-fil-A Thanks for sharing.
Hubby wants to reheat these somehow. How can I reheat it but still keep the grief part?
Any recommendations on type/brand of roll to use?
Nicole, I would go with a potato roll (Martin’s has a great one). I also think, after the sandwiches are assembled, they should be wrapped in foil & allowed to “steam” a bit, just like Chick-Fil-A. :)
Such a yummy idea and I love Chik fil A! This recipe is Featured at the Merry Monday party right now! So glad you party with us!
I think dill is the best but I’ve used all kinds and it’s still good!
Tastes exactly like Chic-fil-a!!! My son and hubby loved them. Have made them three times in the last two weeks. Thanks!
Mine tasted like to much pickle ?
Drain well and then pat dry with a paper towel. The taste won t be so strong then. You will have plenty of moisture for the breading to adhere from the egg and milk mixture.
Ive tried several different chick fila copycat recipes and this is the best one i have found! I cooked these as sliders for my daughters birthday party Nd they were devoured! Thank you
With hundreds of different types of pickles out there, which pickle juice is used? This has been asked before with no reply and it would be nice to know! Thanks!
In the picture of ingredients above the recipe, they show a picture of a dill pickle jar, so I would guess that you just use dill pickle juice from the jar.
My family did not believe that I made them haha.. They thought I bought the burgers and lied crazy delicious taste exactly like Chickfila
Recipe also works great with chicken tenders!
