Veggie Christmas Tree
Soon, Christmas get-togethers will be in full swing. We have office parties and many potlucks on the horizon. Appetizers for the holidays are always great additions.
I am often that person that shows up at a party with a fruit or veggie tray. Sometimes I do not have time to make something from scratch. Last year, I made this super easy and cute Appetizer Christmas Tree.
Of course, it got a bit more attention than my typical store-bought tray. Most everyone was anxious to know how I made it. All were amazed at how easy the Broccoli Christmas Tree was to make.
The Appetizer Christmas Tree starts with a simple craft cone. You can purchase smaller cones at the Dollar Store or medium and large-sized at the craft stores for a couple of dollars. I wrapped the cone with aluminum foil before getting started.
I used a decent quality toothpick to set all the broccoli florets and cherry tomatoes. It’s so simple to stick the veggies and then place around the cone to shape the Christmas tree.
Cherry tomatoes work great for ornaments. You could get creative and add other veggies for a string of garland or lights. I kept my vegetable Christmas Tree simple.
The cauliflower is perfect for snow along the bottom of the tree. Adding it after the tree is prepared works best. I also added the cheese star last. It’s best to keep the cheese covered with a piece of plastic wrap. The wrap will keep it from drying out too much.
You can make the tree a day or so ahead of time. The freshest your veggies can be, the better they will taste and look. I made a simple Ranch Dip to go alongside. Feel free to serve with your favorite mayo or yogurt-based veggie dip.

How to Make Veggie Christmas Tree Appetizer
First, wash all of your vegetables and allow them to dry. Then, wrap your craft cone in aluminum foil or plastic wrap.
Next, add toothpicks to broccoli pieces and cherry tomatoes. Now, start placing them in the tree.
I founded it best to start at the base, adding the tomatoes along the way. With a star cookie cutter or knife cut a small piece of cheese for the star. Add it to the top of the appetizer Christmas Tree.
Place on a plate and surround the bottom of the tree with cauliflower. The white color resembles snow on the ground. Serve with your favorite homemade or store-bought dip.
