This Ranch Crusted Chicken will quickly become one of your favorite crunchy baked chicken recipes. We start with pounded thin chicken breasts, ranch seasoned sour cream then coated in Panko Bread Crumbs before baking. They’re so easy and delicious!
Ranch Crusted Chicken
Do you have chicken recipe burn out? Are you tired of the same old chicken recipes? If so, you need to make this Ranch Crusted Chicken for dinner tonight. Toss in some cubed potatoes, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with remaining ranch seasoning to make this a chicken sheet pan meal.
We tend to have chicken recipes on our dinner menu a couple of times per week. Most of the time, I like to make Parmesean Crusted Chicken because it is a favorite that my entire family loves. Occasionally, I will make a Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole. But recently this Ranch Baked Chicken has become quite a hit!
I can not count how many times I have made coated and baked chicken recipes. So many that I have tested are soggy or little to no crust. Not this Ranch Chicken! It’s Crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside.
Some ranch-flavored chicken recipes use mayonnaise for a coating — not this one. I use sour cream, and I would not make it any other way. The dry ranch seasoning mix blended with the sour cream makes the best flavors. You can taste the ranch, but, it is not overwhelming in the slightest.
It can be challenging to find chicken recipes that are both adult approved and kid-friendly. Adults and kiddos will think that this Ranch Chicken recipe is delicious. I promise that even the pickiest of eaters LOVE it!
Can I use Traditional Bread Crumbs instead of Panko?
I prefer to use Panko Bread Crumbs for this breaded chicken. I think they make for a perfectly Breaded Ranch Chicken with lots of crispiness. If you should use a traditional style, let me know your results in the comments.

How to Make Ranch Crusted Chicken
First, you will want to get the oven preheated. I preheat to 350 degrees. Next, split chicken breast lengthwise and pound thin.
Next, in a shallow dish, whisk together the sour cream and the ranch dressing seasoning mix. If you choose to, you can make a Homemade Ranch Seasoning Blend. Then, add the Panko crumbs to another shallow dish!
For the next step, add a chicken breast to the sour cream mixture and then heavily coat each side. I like to be sure to get into all of the “cracks,”
After dipping in ranch mixture, add the coated chicken to the Panko Crumbs. Generously coat each side, be sure it sticks to the chicken.
Then, transfer to a baking sheet.
If you would like to make this a Chicken Sheet Pan dinner consider adding some cubed potatoes. I drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and dust with ranch seasoning that remains in the package. They compliment well and taste AMAZING!
Bake for about 30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches degrees with a meat thermometer.
If you would like to achieve a golden brown crispy chicken, place under a broiler on high heat for about 1 minute. I keep a close eye, and I do not even close the oven door during this step. The chicken can burn quick.
