Easy Strawberry Crisp
I have been scoring some serious deals at my grocery this summer on fresh fruit. Strawberries have always been my favorite fruit. I like to enjoy a big bowl of fresh strawberries, sugar, and milk frequently during the summer months for evening dessert. YUMMY! Since this weeks sale was strawberries, I really stocked up. I have been some seriously easy and delicious recipes with them. I am planning to make my favorite Strawberry Pie that is like Frisch’s and Shoney’s. It is so easy and I have not made it yet this summer.
When brainstorming for simple dessert ideas, I thought of my Traditional Apple Crisp Recipe. It is a favorite at ours during the fall months. Since I have my fridge stocked with all of these strawberries from the sale, I thought a traditional style Easy Strawberry Crisp would make for a perfect dessert.
I used basically the same recipe that I use for my apple crisp. I just replaced the apples with fresh strawberries with a bit of sugar. Crisps are so simple to prepare. You can have them in the oven in just a few minutes time. We like to have a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Then we drizzle some of the warm sauce from the crisp. Absolutely delicious!
The crispy topping combined with the fresh warm strawberries is so comforting. I normally do not crave many comfort foods during the hot summer months but… I know this recipe will be made many times this summer. My entire family devoured this casserole dish and asked if there was more. So… I think I will be making this one again later in the week.
If you have fresh strawberries that you are needing a simple and delicious recipe for, this Strawberry Crisp is it. I think it would be great for a summer evening potluck. You can feed a small crowd with just one dish or double the recipe for a much larger batch.
Just a few simple ingredients are needed for Homemade Strawberry Crisp. You will need some fresh strawberries (I am sure you could use frozen too), quick oats, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and cornstarch. Prepping this dessert is very quick. You can have this one in the oven in no time at all. Beware… your home is going to smell delicious when it is baking.

This looks really good! But as a diabetic, I can’t have all that sugar so I’m trying it right now with MonkFruit sweetner. Fingers crossed this comes out just as good!
Went strawberry picking today. Made this recipe and I have made many different versions of crisps. This is absolutely the best. Hours after being refrigerated, the topping was still crisp and delicious. You must try. Made exactly as written.
