Old Fashioned Chocolate Pie
Old Fashioned Chocolate Pie is a rich and creamy deep dish chocolate pie made with real chocolate chips. Tastes just like Grandma's! So delicious, easy to make, and tastes even better with a little whipped cream topping.

Milk
4
Egg Yolks
6 1/2
oz
Bittersweet Chocolate Chips

baked and cooled
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, whisk to combine the sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Pour in the milk; add the egg yolks; and whisk until blended.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it just starts to boil (about 7-8 minutes).
As soon as it reaches a pudding consistency, remove pan from the heat.
Quickly add the chocolate chips, butter and vanilla.
Stir until the chips are melted and the mixture is blended.
Pour the mixture into the prebaked pie crust. Tap pan gently on counter to level.
Refrigerate uncovered for at least 4 hours.
Serve with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Use a good quality bittersweet chocolate. I used chips but a chopped bittersweet chocolate bar will work too!
