Best Chili

This is the BEST Chili recipe that is so quick and easy to make on the stovetop. It's rich, hearty and loaded with ground beef, vegetables and beans. Make a pot for dinner in less than an hour.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Onion diced
  • 1 Jalapeño Pepper seeded and diced
  • 1 Bell Pepper seeded and diced
  • 1 tbsp minced Garlic
  • 3 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 28 oz Crushed Tomatoes
  • 15 oz Kidney Beans 1 can drained
  • 14.5 oz Diced Tomatoes 1 can
  • 2 1/2 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste

Instructions

  • In a large pot, brown ground beef.
  • Add onion, jalapeno, bell pepper and garlic.
  • Cook on medium for 4 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 50 minutes stirring occasionally.

Notes

  • Dice vegetables to a uniform size, you want them to cook evenly.
  • Be sure to drain the beans before adding to pot.
  • Taste test and add additional heat if you prefer a spicy chili.
  • Serve with a crusty bread along with chili toppings like cheese and sour cream.
