White Pizza Sauce

White Pizza Sauce is different from tomato sauces: made from bechamel and cheese. This delicious, creamy topping is so easy to make- try it!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 1 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp minced Garlic
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan Cheese shredded
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Whisk in flour to make a roux and cook for 2 minutes while whisking (do not brown).
  • Gradually add milk while whisking constantly.
  • Cook until smooth and thickened, whisking regularly.
  • Add salt, pepper, oregano and garlic. Whisk to combine.
  • Add parmesan cheese, remove from heat and whisking until parmesan is melted and sauce is smooth.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Use on pizza or cover and refrigerate for up to several days.

Notes

Freshly grated Parmesean works best but store-bought canned stuff should work too!
