Hamburger Potato Casserole

Ingredients

  • 6 small Potatoes peeled and thin sliced
  • 2 lb Ground Beef browned and drained
  • 21 oz Cream of Mushroom Condensed Soup 2 cans
  • 1 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Brown the ground beef, drain and set aside.
  • Peel potatoes, slice and set aside.
  • Combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, onion powder and garlic powder in a medium bowl.
  • Stir until blended and set aside.
  • Grease a 9x13" baking dish.
  • Layer about 1/2 the potatoes on the bottom.
  • Top with a layer of about 1/2 the beef.
  • Then layer 1/2 the soup and 1/2 the cheese.
  • Repeat another set of layers of potatoes, beef and soup.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 90 minutes.
  • Check to make sure potatoes are tender. If not, re-cover and bake another 15 minutes.
  • Remove foil and top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake 15 more minutes.
  • Allow it to sit for 8-12 minutes to firm and cool slightly.

Notes

Baking times will vary for this ground beef casserole. Depending on the thickness and type of potato used and also your oven. Be sure to allow enough baking time for your potatoes to cook. The time could take quite a bit longer.
