Ingredients

3cupFlour
1tspBaking Soda
2tspCinnamon
1/2tspNutmeg
1 1/2cupApplesauce
1 1/4cupSugar
3/4cupBrown Sugar
3Eggs
3tspVanilla Extract
5medium Granny Smith Apples
1cupchopped PecansOptional

Instructions
Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 325.
Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Set aside.
Peel, core and dice the apples into bite sized pieces. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine apple sauce, sugar and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until blended.
Add the flour mixture until blended being sure to scrape down the sides.
Fold the apple pieces and chopped pecans (if using) into the batter.
Transfer batter to prepared dish and spread evenly.
Bake for 45-50 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Combine all of the glaze ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Stir continuously while boiling for 1-2 minutes.
Pour glaze evenly over the top of the cake.
Notes
Baking times will vary for this cake. Use the toothpick method for checking. Continue to bake the cake until the toothpick comes out clean.
