Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

These Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats are the perfect sweet treat! The combination of crunchy cereal, smooth peanut butter, and rich chocolate creates a delicious dessert that's sure to be a hit! You won't regret making these chocolate peanut butter bars for your next party!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 5 cup Mini Marshmallows (about 10 oz bag)
  • 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 6 cup Rice Krispie
  • 1 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 2 tbsp Shortening

Instructions

  • Line a 9x13" inch pan with with parchmant paper or grease it. Set aside.
  • In a large pan melt the butter over low heat.
  • Add marshmallows, peanut butter and vanilla.
  • Stir until melted and blended.
  • Remove from heat and add in the Rice Krispies.
  • Stir until blended.
  • Transfer to prepared pan and gently press the mixture into place. Set aside.
  • Place the chocolate chips and shortening onto a microwavable dish.
  • Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until mixture is melted.
  • Pour melted chocolate over the rice krispie treats and spread with a spatula.
  • Allow chocolate to set.
  • Once set, cut into bars.

Notes

If using unsalted butter, add 1/8 teaspoon salt.
Leftovers – You can store this sweet treat in an airtight container for up to three days.
Freezing – I don’t recommend freezing them as the cereal can get soggy when thawed.
