Red White and Blue Crinkle Cookies

These Red, White, & Blue Crinkle Cookies will be great for your Memorial Day and 4th of July dessert. They are so simple! We make them with a boxed cake mix, Cool-Whip, and a few other ingredients. And... they are super patriotic.

Ingredients

  • 1 box White Cake Mix
  • 1 beaten Egg
  • 8 oz Whipped Topping
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • Red Food Coloring
  • Blue Food Coloring
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add cake mix, egg, whipped topping and vanilla.
  • Beat until blended.
  • Transfer half of batter/dough to another bowl and add red food coloring until rich red is achieved.
  • Add blue food coloring to other bowl to get a nice shade of blue.
  • Put the powdered sugar into a small shallow bowl.
  • Use a tablespoon to portion the dough into the bowl of sugar (I use silicone spatula to scrape balls from spoon into bowl).
  • Drop one scoop at a time into powdered sugar and roll to completely coat.
  • Place each onto the prepared baking sheet leaving several inches between each.
  • Bake for 11 to 13 minutes or until cookies set.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack to finish cooling.
