Easy Easter Bunny Cake

This Easy Easter Bunny Cake will be perfect for your after dinner dessert. Since we start with a boxed cake mix, it is super simple. Let the kids help decorate.... they will LOVE it!


  • 1 box White Cake Mix plus Ingredients
  • 2 Stick Butter softened
  • 4 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 8 oz Coconut Flakes divided
  • 20 drops Blue Food Coloring
  • 3 drops Red Food Coloring
  • 6 drops Green Food Coloring
  • 2 Pink Jelly Beans
  • 1 Black Jelly Beans
  • 6 Twizzlers Pull n Peel Snack Size


  1. Make cake according to box directions for two 9" layers.
  2. Allow to cool.
  3. Beat butter and gradually add in powdered sugar until blended and fluffy.
  4. Transfer 1/3 of frosting to seperate bowl.
  5. Add blue food coloring to small bowl and whip to blend color.
  6. Measure across center of one of cake layers and mark with a toothpick 3" in from each side.
  7. Using a large pan lid (about 12") Cut ears from each side, leaving bow tie.
  8. Position pieces as shown and frost head and ears with white frosting.
  9. Position bow tie and frost with blue frosting.
  10. Place 1/2 cup coconut in small bowl and add red food coloring while stirring with fork to distribute.
  11. Place remaining coconut in large bowl and add green food coloring while stirring with fork to distribute.
  12. Position black jelly bean as nose and pink jelly beans as eyes.
  13. Separate Twizzlers and use pink pieces to outline ears, make whiskers and mouth.
  14. Use pink coconut to fill in ears.
  15. Use green coconut around outside of cake.
