Christmas M&M Cookies

If you need cookies for Santa this year, these Christmas M&M Cookies are his favorite. The dough resembles that of chocolate chip cookies but, instead of chips, we add red and green M&M candies. Kids, and St. Nick will love them!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter softened
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/3 tsp Salt
  • 2 cup red and green M&M's divided

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar and sugar until creamy.
  • Add in vanilla and the egg. Beat until incorporated. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt by whisking.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet while beating.
  • Fold in 1 1/2 cup of M&M's into the dough.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Scoop out heaping tablespoon sized pieces of dough, form into ball and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Add a few of the remaining M&M's onto the top of each cookie and gently press in place.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes. Look for golden brown edges around the cookie (they may look slightly undercooked).
  • Allow to cool on the cookie sheet.
