Creamed Peas and Pearl Onions

Ingredients

  • 12 oz frozen Peas thawed
  • 12 oz frozen Pearl Onions thawed
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Sugar

Instructions

  • In a skillet or saucepan, melt the butter.
  • Stir in the flour until blended making a roux.
  • Gradually add milk while whisking.
  • Add salt, pepper, garlic powder and sugar and whisk to blend.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, add peas and onions.
  • Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes until heat through.
