If you are needing a cute idea to dress up all those Lindt Chocolate Truffles we have been scoring with coupons think about making these adorable Quick & Easy Santa Truffles. I have picked up a few bags of the Lindt Chocolate Truffles and wanted to make them a bit unique. So I started brainstorming for something cute and simple. Hubby and I arrived at a Santa which I am sharing with you today, a Rudolph and a Snowman that I will be sharing this week too! I do not think I have let you know how festive these little guys are making me feel. I am honestly considering putting up my holiday decor earlier this year, ha ha.
Quick & Easy Santa Truffles
I thought it was great to take the tasty premade truffles at the store and dress them up a bit. These will be placed in little candy dishes over the holidays for visitors to enjoy. I am sure they will be a topic of conversation. Just a bag of truffles, a few Hershey kisses, icing (you can buy a quick premade tube at the store if you do not want to take the time to whip up the good stuff) and some of those cute eyes that are at every grocery store now (I bought mine at Aldi over the Halloween season)
12 White Chocolate Truffles
1/4 cup White Candy Melts
1/4 cup Red Candy Melts
24 Candy eyes
12 Red Round candy Decorations
12 Hershey Kisses
1/2 cup softened Butter (Or buy premade Icing)
1/2 tsp Vanilla
2 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tbsp Milk
In a large bowl, cream the butter and add vanilla.
Mix in the sugar one cup at a time.
Beat in the milk mixing until fluffy.
Transfer icing to the corner of large size zipper bag, try to minimaize trapped air and close. Clip a small piece off the corner to pipe.
Refrigerate to firm.
Heat Red Candy Chips in small bowl by microwaving for 30 seconds stirring and repeating until melted.
Insert a toothpick in the bottom of Hershey Hugs.
Dip in red chocolate and rotate to cover. Allow excess to drip off.
Stab toothpick into piece of foam or potato to allow to dry.
Heat White Candy Chips in small bowl by microwaving for 30 seconds stirring and repeating until melted.
If Truffles are not flat on bottom, dip bottom of truffle in white chocolate and place on wax paper.
Allow to set.
Using toothpick, gather up small bit of melted white chocolate and paint on bottom of Hershey and place on top of truffle.
Using toothpick, gather up small bit of melted white chocolate and paint on back of red “nose” and place on truffle. You may need to hold in place for a moment.
Repeat this process with each eye.
Allow chocolate to set.
Pipe icing around the edge between the Hershey and the truffle.
Pipe a ball on the on the tip of the hat.
Pipe a beard around the face of the truffle.
If you think these cute Santa Truffles are adorable, be sure to drop back in this week and take a peek at the reindeer and the snowman I will be sharing. They are so simple yet they look like they took a ton of time. Everyone who sees these has to comment on how difficult it is to eat them. If you are picking up all the Lindt Chocolates, share with me if you have made some additional creations.
