Today I am continuing to offer up some Quick and Easy Meals Recipes. Just like the Quick and Easy Meals Recipe Hoagies at Home found here, these are nothing fancy but may be an idea that you may not have thought of. Today I am featuring our Tuna Salad Pita. This one gives you an idea for a Quick and Easy Meal.
We have been making so many different sandwiches pitas and wraps with all these summer time busy days. It has been light on the stomach and on the dishes that need to be washed ha ha! Yes, I really dislike dishes. The kiddos can grab theirs on a paper plate and int he trash it goes.
Tuna is an item that you can quite often find on a good sale with a coupon, mayo and Miracle Whip have been on many sales. We have been scoring FREE relish lately. I grabbed my veggies on the cheap at Aldi. And, I always scan the Kroger mark downs for bread items (loved that I found pitas on the cheap). So not only was this a Quick and Easy Meals Recipe it was also very cheap. I fed all of us for under $5.00 Yippee (I doubled this recipe of course for our large family).
Quick and Easy Meal Recipe
Here are the ingredients:
2 cans of Tuna drained
2 stalks Celery chopped
1/2 medium Onion chopped
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp Yellow Mustard
3 tbsp Sweet Relish
We start by adding mayonnaise, mustard and relish in a bowl and blending together. Then we add the onions and celery. Finally adding in the tuna. I do all this before I add the tuna so it doesn’t get all broken up in mixing.
Then we split the pitas, put in a little lettuce and stuff with tuna salad. Add some carrot sticks and you had a simple tasty meal.
