With the Summer season here, we need to make a quick and easy meals recipe. Hot foods just do not sound all that appealing. Almost weekly we will make Hoagies at Home. Subway just gets to expensive to feed our family.
I like to have quick meals to throw together that do not require much effort. Most of the summer the heat makes everyone hungry at different times. So sandwiches and salads are the norm in our household.
I will regularly stock store bought salads, lunchmeats, potato chips as well as many fruits and vegetables for cold salads. It just seems the most practical for us during the warm season. I watch for great deals with coupons to score the items as cheap as possible. I watch the bakery markdowns every trip to the store to find the bread potion on the cheap. If I have not located a sale I head on over to Aldi and grab all the staples.
For the next few weeks I will be offering up some Quick and Easy Meals Recipes. Most will be nothing fancy but may be an idea that you may not have thought of. Today I am featuring our Hoagies at home. Like I said nothing fancy but gives you an idea for a Quick and Easy Meal.
Quick and Easy Meals Recipe Hoagies at Home
Here are the ingredients:
1 Loaf Italian Bread or buns
1/2 head lettuce
4 slices American Cheese
5 slices Cooked Ham
1 lb Potato Salad
Oil and Vinegar
Slice onions and tomatoes. Cut cheese slices diagonally to fit nicely on the bread. Shred lettuce. Split the bread lengthwise. Layer on Cheese, then Ham (or meat of your choice), then Onions and Lettuce. Top with Tomato slices. Add Mayonnaise or Oil & Vinegar and top with other slice of bread.
Add potato chips and potato salad and garnish with a pickle for a great easy meal!

- 1 Tomato
- 1/2 head lettuce
