We have a very large family, there are seven of us (which includes a growing man and 3 teenage boys that can eat like no tomorrow, lol). So, eating on the cheap is difficult at times. I try to keep my dinner meals at $10 or under. Sometimes I can get creative and manage to pull it off, other times I am not so lucky.
Tonight’s meal will be a pork tenderloin, Betty Crocker mashed potatoes, canned peas and fresh bread. Here is the breakdown of the $’s spent on this meal…
Meijer Pork Tenderloin (was on sale last week for $2.99 pr lb)-2.83 lb- $8.46
Betty Crocker Mashed Potatoes (Money Maker at Kroger this week, you can see the deal here)-FREE
Canned Peas (I buy these at Aldi unless I find a great stockpile price on name brand) we use two cans- $1.30
Fresh Bread From Kroger- $1.99
As you can see I went over my budget of $10, this meal total to feed all seven of us is $11.75. Obviously, if your family is smaller than mine, you can definitely keep this meal under $10.
