Are you on the hunt for a Father’s Day Craft gift idea that will not cost you an arm and a leg? I let you know that all of my kiddos were making their own Father’s Day gifts for dad this year as our budget is tight at the moment. I shared my son Damien’s Father’s Day Craft Candy Bouquet on the cheap here. This Father’s Day gift was even cheaper.
Father’s Day Craft Personalized Mug for just $1
I let my daughter Cierra who is 17 years old know that I needed to have her give me her supply list for her Father’s Day Craft and she said “Just a Mug from the Dollar Tree, Mom”. I told her she needed to do something besides giving her dad a mug, ha ha. Well she said NOPE, I plan to personalize it with a Sharpie Mug. I was quite worried that a Sharpie was just going to come off after being washed. She let me know that we can personalize mugs with Sharpies if we bake them after personalizing. Interesting I thought! I will let her give it a try. So I grabbed her a mug when I was doing some shopping at the Dollar Tree.
She decorated it up and tossed it in the oven at 350 for 1 hour. She then let it cool for a couple of hours before I gave it a test run with washing. To my amazement she was correct. You really can personalize a mug with a Sharpie. She tossed in some confetti paper and a thing of deodorant that I had picked up for FREE. So this quick easy and inexpensive Father’s Day Craft a Personalized Mug was just $1.
The next time you need a personalized gift, consider making it very personal with a Personalized Mug. But do note that I read around online that some cups the Sharpie will adhere too after baking and other mugs will not. So, kind of a crap shoot, haha. We chose a good one at the Dollar Tree I guess!
