Easy Christmas Bark with Reindeer

Since Christmas is just around the corner, I was excited to share the fun sweet and salty chocolate bark that we make each year. It’s a great recipe to make with the kids. We melt easy chocolate melting trays, spread it, and add cute additions to resemble Rudolf reindeer.

We enjoy making candies during the holiday season. They are great for gifting. They are also great for making a candy tray to serve at parties, take to the office, or cookie and candy exchanges.

Easy Christmas Reindeer Bark

Most everyone likes to indulge in a little bit of candy during the holidays. So, sweet treats make great gifts. I make Peanut Butter Meltaways, Polar Paws, Sticky Paws, CrockPot Peanut Clusters, and Chocolate Covered Cherries each year.

Cute Reindeer Christmas Bark

My favorite recipes are the easy ones. This Christmas Bark with Reindeer recipe is so super easy so, we make it each year. When I gift it, I add to a clear cellophane bag with a simple ribbon and a Christmas tag. You can whip up multiple batches in no time, and it’s inexpensive.

Melting chocolate bark is available at most every grocery store. My grocery offers melting chocolate in trays or without. They make cleanup much easier. If they not available, add the bark to a bowl and microwave according to the package directions.

Pretzels are salty and perfect for reindeer ears. I have my kiddos break the ears while I am preparing the chocolate. Candy eyes that are available in the baking aisle at most grocery stores are easy. You could consider using M&M’s candies for the eyes too!

For our Christmas Reindeer Bark, we use candy red hots for the noses. Any small red candy can work for this recipe. Red and green sprinkles add a bit of extra color and cuteness, but they are not needed.

Ingredients to Make Christmas Bark with Reindeer

  • Melting Chocolates
  • Mini Pretzel Twists
  • Candies for Reindeer Eyes
  • Red Candy for Rudolph’s nose
  • Optional Sprinkles

How to Make Christmas Bark with Reindeer

First, prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Next, prepare the melting chocolate according to package directions. Check to make sure the chocolate is very smooth.

Then, spread the chocolate evenly on to the prepared pan with a spatula. I make our bark about 1/8 inch or so thick.

Immediately add pretzels for ears, candies for the eyes and nose. Finally, add the sprinkles if desired.

Refrigerate the Christmas bark for about 30 minutes to fully set. Then, cut or break into individual pieces.

Keep the Reindeer Bark in an air-tight container or bag until serving for up to 7 days or so. I have never frozen the bark as I worried about it “sweating” and becoming less attractive.
