Traditional Spritz Cookies

Everyone in our house is sure to be in the holiday spirit once we start baking Christmas Cookies. We have been baking up a storm and plan to do a bunch more baking this weekend. I shared our Snowball Cookies with you and last year, I shared our favorite Reese’s Peanut Butter Cookies but Christmas season is not in true form until we make a batch of Easy Butter Spritz Cookies.

We make up batches and batches of these yummy cookies to enjoy ourselves and we also include them on our holiday cookie trays that we gift. For years, we hadn’t made them because my cookie press broke. Then I decided to make them without the cookie press. These cookies require no cookie press, they are so super simple. You can just use a basic star baking tip and pastry bag. If you do not have one, they are easy to purchase right at the grocery store. Any larger sized star tip should work.

I did some simple swirls with my star tip that are pretty. To create a star, just place pressure and lift slightly and then press back down a couple times (sort of like bobbing up and down). Super simple once you get the hang of it. These cookies are very delicate so be sure to let them cool completely.

Since these Spritz Cookies main highlight is the butter, you will need 2 whole sticks of butter, some sugar, egg, vanilla, and flour. They come together so quickly and taste oh so good.
