Pizza Pasta Salad

During the summer months, we make so many different varieties of salads to enjoy when we grill out. I can make big batches of salads to enjoy for a couple days lunches and dinners.  I usually make our traditional Pasta Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette.  Most of my kiddos enjoy that one.

Occasionally, we step outside the box and try different types of salad recipes. I have seen other bloggers making what they call Pizza Pasta Salad. They all seemed to not have what I would think was the perfect blend of flavors in a pizza. I knew that my Homemade Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing would make for a great pasta salad coating.

The dressing worked perfect. I am sure this pasta salad would be great with a basic balsamic dressing but the addition of the tomato flavor in the homemade dressing made the salad more pizza inspired if you ask me.

To make a big bowl of our Pizza Pasta Salad, you will need your favorite pasta. Any pasta would work but I used a rotini pasta. You will also need red onion, red pepper, green pepper, black olives, mini pepperoni (or regular sized sliced in half), grated parmesan cheese, as well as fresh mozzarella cheese. To dress it up, add in my Homemade Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing. I also added in some banana peppers to my plate just because I love banana peppers on my pizza. Feel free to add in any of your favorite pizza toppings to this salad.

INGREDIENTS
1 lb box Rotini (or your favorite pasta), cooked and drained
1 large Green Pepper, chopped
1 large Red Pepper, chopped
1/2 large Red Onion, chopped
10 oz Grape Tomatoes, cut in half
3.8 oz can sliced Black Olives, drained
5 oz Mini Pepperonis
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan
8 oz Mozzarella, chopped
1 cup Homemade Tomato Vinaigrette or your favorite vinaigrette dressing

DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and toss to coat.

  1. Hey Girl,

We have a lot of similar recipes including this easy pizza pasta salad. I am telling your readers this is pasta is super easy to prepare and very kid friendly. A great benefit with this salad is you can make it ahead of time. It also travels well and is great for picnics too.
I use a simple bottle dressing for this salad but your homemade tomato vinegarette dressing sounds extremely delicious.
