I used one of the $1 off fresh pork coupons at Meijer this week to pick up a pork shoulder that was on sale for $0.99 per pound. Pulled Pork is one of those things that takes a while to make, but it is worth it in the end. The biggest problem is smelling the aroma throughout the house while it slow cooks. The total cost for this simple meal is $6.88. And, we usually can get two meals out of each pork. This is my recipe and I think it works pretty well. I have also added the recipe card at the end of the post.

Here are the ingredients:
Pork shoulder ($5.39 on sale at Meijer with $1 off Fresh Pork coupon)
Garlic powder
Onion Powder
Chili Powder
Kosher salt
Pepper
French Fries ($1.00 Dollar Tree)
Kraft BBQ sauce (FREE at Kroger previously)
Hamburger buns ($0.49 at Kroger Managers Special)
I always remove the thick hard fat that is on the bottom before seasoning with onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, kosher salt and pepper. Then into the over it goes for 8-10 hours at 250.

When it some out let it cool for a bit before shredding the pork. I try to remove any of the fat that didn’t render out during the cooking process.

Then you just add some barbecue sauce and toss on a bun along with some french fries for a meal.
