Meals on a Budget: Cheesesteak Pizza

After the positive results from the Montgomery Inn Pulled Pork Pizza, I decided to try another of my favorites things, Cheesesteak. The biggest dilemma on this was what to use as a base sauce. I opted for a simple provolone and garlic, and it turned out well. This is my recipe and I think it works pretty well. I have also added the recipe card at the end of the post.

Ingredients:
1 Pillsbury Thin Crust Pizza Crust ($1.25 from recent Kroger deal)
4 Steak-Eze steaks ($4.00 from Aldi)
3/4 of a bell pepper (I used 1/4 each red, orange and yellow) sliced in strips
1 Onion sliced
10 banana pepper rings
dash of Worcestershire sauce
8 oz Kraft Slice Provolone Cheese ($1.29 from recent Kroger deal)
2 tbsp Butter or Margarine melted
1 tsp minced garlic or garlic powder

Cook Onions and peppers in microwave for 1 minute. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the frozen steak portions. Flip them and begin breaking them up. Add a dash of Worcestershire.

Add the onions, bell peppers, banana peppers and continue cooking until meaty is no longer pink.

Stretch pizza dough onto cookie sheet and pre-bake for 5 minutes at 400. Remove from oven and apply a mixture of the garlic and butter or margarine to the bottom of the crust. Place half the cheese on the bottom of the crust. spread steak and onion mixture out on crust.

Cover with remaining cheese and bake for another 6-10 minutes.

Yum!!!!! I will have to give this a try. Wonder if you could also use an alfredo sauce for the base?

I would think that would be a great idea. I put some tomatoes on my side (these picky eaters I have around here, lol). Let me know how it turns out:)
